- On Saturday night, Patrick Marleau tied Howe by playing in his 1,767th game. (Marcel) Dionne is more impressed with Ovechkin than he is with Marleau, who on Monday, barring an injury, will pass Howe. “What is he scoring now, a goal or two a year? I’m not that impressed with that. I give him credit for playing that long. Just not how he’s doing it.” Marleau, for the record, has four goals this season.

I expect most people outside SJ know if Marleau played like Howe he would have lasted maybe 5 years and <500 games. |

Stupid statement by Dionne...comparing a 41 year old on a terrible team to a guy six years younger, who is probably the second greatest goal scorer in NHL history, on one of the best teams. I completely agree. It's like saying: You are not Ovi (who is a one of a kind player) so you suck. There are plenty of players in the NHL that do not score any goals a year. |

So just heard.... Evander Kane is declaring bankruptcy, may terminate his contract citing "health concerns" for newborn baby. Does anyone know how much of that will hit the cap for the next 4 years? He has impulse control problems. This is just one way it manifests. It wont end well for him. Ahem............... |
