OK, well since being dropped on the trash heap after a fantastic season in favor of Karlsson - who was horrifically bad his first year in SJ - Pavelski has 103 pts and is +33. Karlsson has 79 pts (who wouldn’t with his ice time) and a stunning -29. Guess who I’ll be rooting for tonight.

Look whose missing. Huge Ouch
The 2022 NHL All-Star Fan Vote has begun, and to mark the occasion, NHL.com staff writers and editors have made their picks.
Fans are being asked to select a captain for each divisional team for 2022 NHL Honda All-Star Weekend in Las Vegas on Feb. 4-5. Fans will be selecting the captains at NHL.com/vote and the NHL App, which offers fans a mobile interactive ballot.
The NHL.com staffers went a step further and picked the remaining players to fill out the 11-man roster for each of the four divisions. They were assigned to specific divisions and each named six forwards, three defensemen and two goalies to represent that division.
The 2022 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend will once again consist of a three-game tournament, played in a 3-on-3 format, featuring four teams, one from each division.
Fans can cast votes for one player from each division, without regard to position. Voting concludes at 11:59 p.m. ET on Saturday, Jan. 8, with the top vote-getters by division named All-Stars and captains.
Once the captains are selected, NHL Hockey Operations will name the remaining rosters. Each team in each division will be represented by at least one player on the roster.
Here are NHL.com panel results:
Atlantic Division Forwards
Steven Stamkos, Tampa Bay Lightning (captain)
Jonathan Huberdeau, Florida Panthers
Auston Matthews, Toronto Maple Leafs
Lucas Raymond, Detroit Red Wings
Brad Marchand, Boston Bruins
Tyler Toffoli, Montreal Canadiens
Defensemen
Aaron Ekblad, Florida Panthers
Rasmus Dahlin, Buffalo Sabres
Thomas Chabot, Ottawa Senators
Goalies
Jack Campbell, Toronto Maple Leafs
Andrei Vasilevskiy, Tampa Bay Lightning
Others receiving votes: forwards Tage Thompson (Sabres), Drake Batherson (Senators), Brady Tkachuk (Senators), Nick Suzuki (Canadiens); defensemen Victor Hedman (Lightning), Charlie McAvoy (Bruins), Chris Wideman (Canadiens)
Scouting report: Even at the hectic pace of 3-on-3 play, this team will have a good chance of stopping the puck with Campbell enjoying a breakout season and Vasilevskiy continuing to show he's among the very best. The defensemen will move the puck and there's a mix of youth and savviness at forward. Huberdeau and Matthews were the clear Nos. 1-2 in voting, and Ekblad getting the most votes at defenseman is more validation he's a top contender for the Norris Trophy given to the best at the position.
Voters: Jon Lane, Jim Cerny, Dave Stubbs, Mike Zeisberger
Metropolitan Division Forwards
Alex Ovechkin, Washington Capitals (captain)
Artemi Panarin, New York Rangers
Jake Guentzel, Pittsburgh Penguins
Sebastian Aho, Carolina Hurricanes
Chris Kreider, New York Rangers
Claude Giroux, Philadelphia Flyers
Defensemen
Adam Fox, New York Rangers
Dougie Hamilton, New Jersey Devils
Zach Werenski, Columbus Blue Jackets
Goalies
Igor Shesterkin, New York Rangers
Ilya Sorokin, New York Islanders
Others receiving votes: forwards Evgeny Kuznetsov (Capitals), Sidney Crosby (Penguins), Mathew Barzal (Islanders); Jesper Bratt (Devils); defenseman John Carlson (Capitals); goalies Tristan Jarry (Penguins), Semyon Varlamov (Islanders).
Scouting report: This team will be strong from the goal out with Shesterkin and Sorokin and three of the best puck-moving defensemen in the NHL in Fox, Hamilton and Werenski, which is essential in 3-on-3 play. The forwards should produce plenty of scoring with Ovechkin, Kreider, Guentzel and Aho each in the top 11 in goals and Panarin and Ovechkin in the top eight in assists. Ovechkin was a unanimous choice as captain and the top forward. Fox, the reigning Norris Trophy winner, was first among defensemen on all four ballots
Voters: Tom Gulitti, Adam Kimelman, Mike Morreale, Bill Price
Central Division Forwards
Nazem Kadri, Colorado Avalanche
Kirill Kaprizov, Minnesota Wild
Kyle Connor, Winnipeg Jets
Jordan Kyrou, St. Louis Blues
Alex DeBrincat, Chicago Blackhawks
Joe Pavelski, Dallas Stars
Defensemen
Roman Josi, Nashville Predators (captain)
Cale Makar, Colorado Avalanche
Shayne Gostisbehere, Arizona Coyotes
Goalies
Juuse Saros, Nashville Predators
Cam Talbot, Minnesota Wild
Others receiving votes: forwards Patrick Kane (Blackhawks), Matt Duchene (Predators), Jason Robertson (Stars); goalie Jordan Binnington (Blues)
Scouting report: This team has an abundance of speed and elite hands at forward. In particular, Kadri, Kaprizov and Connor have been consistently on fire in the first quarter of the season. On defense, Makar's speed and skill will be a factor in the All-Star Game format and the Central will benefit from Josi's cerebral, engaged game that continues to be elite. Makar and Josi tied in the vote for the captaincy and Josi earned the nod in a tiebreaker, given his vast experience as a captain, leader and impact player for the Predators over 11 seasons.
Voters: Nick Cotsonika, Bill Douglas, Tracey Myers, Tim Campbell
Pacific DIvision Forwards
Connor McDavid, Edmonton Oilers (captain)
Leon Draisaitl, Edmonton Oilers
Troy Terry, Anaheim Ducks
Johnny Gaudreau, Calgary Flames
Yanni Gourde, Seattle Kraken
Anze Kopitar, Los Angeles Kings
Defensemen
Quinn Hughes, Vancouver Canucks
Alex Pietrangelo, Vegas Golden Knights
Erik Karlsson, San Jose Sharks
Goalies
Jacob Markstrom, Calgary Flames
John Gibson, Anaheim Ducks
Other receiving votes: forwards Andrew Mangiapane (Flames), Timo Meier (Sharks), Mark Stone (Golden Knights), Jordan Eberle (Kraken); defensemen Drew Doughty (Kings), Kevin Shattenkirk (Ducks); goalies Robin Lehner (Golden Knights), Jonathan Quick (Kings)
Scouting report: This team will put the puck in the net. Draisaitl and McDavid are the top two scorers in the NHL and their chemistry is unmatched. Gaudreau and Terry are each in the top 20 in scoring. Hughes and Karlsson are in the top 15 in scoring among defensemen. Pietrangelo can fire it from the point. Gourde and Kopitar can make plays and they're relentless all over the ice. This team is filled with playmakers and elite skaters. Markstrom has been arguably the best goalie in the NHL this season. Gibson has been a rock for arguably the most surprising team in the League.
Voters: Dan Rosen, Shawn P. Roarke, Pete Jensen, David Satriano

He’s a freaking weasel, he will have a judgement day sooner than he thinks.

Forget the Olympics, is the season gonna get postponed? Seeing a lot of cases in the last few days, not just NHL either.
Not that I think anyone should be going in the first place.

Forget the Olympics, is the season gonna get postponed? Seeing a lot of cases in the last few days, not just NHL either. Not that I think anyone should be going in the first place. I have been following this. We have been told the vaccines are effective. Then they modify this to say there will be breakthrough cases but fairly rare. Then breakthrough will be common but the vaccines will prevent the infected from going to the hospital. I get the last argument for the the elderly and compromised but these are young healthy professional athletes. What were their odds of ending up in the hospital? Now to the Olympics.....If you get Covid in China they will keep you there in isolation for a VERY long time. Teams should not be ok with this. In related news F China!
