Peng saying the Sharks might be taking on the Petry and Myers contracts. Swell.

Get more draft capital for bad contracts (that'll also fill the roster and allow the kids to develop) and trade Karlsson to ensure you have the worse lineup in hockey and have the best odds at getting the top pick next year. It won't be a Bedard at the top of that draft but stacking top prospects like Eklund, Bystedt, Smith, and whoever's next is how to build for a better future. It sucks right now because they've been bad for a few years and will be bad for a few more but that's not on Grier, he inherited this dumpster fire, he didn't start it.

I agree the more the draft capital the better the Sharks will be in the future. They were talking about next year’s top player( I forgot his name) on the draft today, and If I recall EJ Radek said next year’s top player would of been a top 5 pick this year, so let’s hope the Sharks can land him.

The problem is turning into an eternal salary dump like Arizona. Only if you’re eternally bad and unstable.

The San Jose Sharks did not tender qualifying offers to Mackenzie Blackwood, Jonah Gadjovich, Noah Gregor, Strauss Mann or Evgeny Svechnikov and they will become unrestricted free agents.
Martin Kaut and Fabian Zetterlund were qualified.

Martin Kaut and Fabian Zetterlund were qualified. Zetterlund feels like another guy they're gonna try to make work for way too long but what's new. Sucks to see Gadj go, I know his skating isn't NHL level but he could crash and bang on the fourth line but the Sharks are allergic to toughness so again, what's new.

I liked what little I saw of him, had a bit of old school sandpaper type defense in him. Also saw that they did in fact sign Blackwood to a two year deal.
