Hopefully Grier can get some worthwhile assets and unload everybody.

I really hope Hertl begged Grier to trade him to a contender.
Why are Hoffman, Labanc, Rutta, and Granlund still here?

Pathetic showing by our potential rentals, only Duclair gets a ticket out and he couldn't find the net all season Hertl waived his NMC, in addition to being on a potential contender he also will pay 6m less taxes in Vegas supposedly

Yeah you’re right about the others but then what’s the plan here? Actively acquire aging vets who aren’t good anymore and then… keep them? Today was a huge let down. I could get behind trading Hertl and his contract but to Vegas? That’s just cruel. But not getting anything for these guys who were brought in specifically to be unloaded at the deadline. That’s a failure.

I thought we would've gotten a little more for Hertl but trading him to a division rival and retaining some of his contract is something I just don't understand.

I wish we had traded him instead of resigning him 2 years ago, but what can you do. Since he had a NMC, we did not have the upper hand. I'm glad the contract is gone, because that will be an albatross like Vlasic's is in 3-4 years, at most I'd say. Just don't see those knees holding up, because they haven't really.

You mean to tell me there wasn't a East Coast Team that would have wanted him with us retaining 17% of his Salary?! I hope the Prospect we got back is serviceable because the 1st round pick is going to likely be 20th or later! I have really only 2 Professional Franchises I follow with all of my being. The San Jose Sharks and the Minnesota Vikings! Both of the Franchises I follow have new GM's that like to make Trades inter Division. Both Teams GM's seem to get Fleeced within their Divisions on Trades that they Make! What in the Actual Fuck is going on!!!!!

Nothing I hate more than trading with Vegas, especially not giving them a well-beloved Shark.

Grier's teardown has meant trading the four best players (and biggest contracts) Karlsson, Burns, Meier, and Hertl.
This is what he's gotten in return:
Cond 2023 1st 2024 2nd 2024 7th Johnsson Mukhamadullin Okhotiuk Zetterlund 2024 1st (top ten protected) Rutta Granlund Hoffman Lorentz Makiniemi 2023 3rd 2025 1st Edstrom

As if the hockey "culture" cannot help it. These people shouldn't be covered up for. They should be hunted down mercilessly, exposed, ostracized.

Yup. After Lorentz was shipped out for Duclair, who's also gone, and Johnsson's back in Sweden.

With the Sharks parent company being sued, I wonder if the NHL will take any sanctions against the Sharks.

I went to the Jackets - Sharks game tonight.
What a shitshow. Sic transit. What a wreck has been created from a team that went to the conference finals five seasons ago and was considered a long-time contender... Only Vlasic and Labanc remain from that team, and they do not decorate it.
The Sharks look like the next salary dump for the foreseeable future. What say Hasso?
The Jackets are almost as bad, but at least they are permanently injured, and good on paper.

I can get behind Grier taking everything of value off the roster; Burns, Meier, Karlsson, Hertl but it really cements how bad they're gonna be for another 3-5 years minimum. Reclamation projects and salary dumps for a while now and while we're at it, make sure they're small, soft, and uncompetitive too. Least they have good jerseys now yay.

Arizona can't get out of the salary dump mode for a very long time now. What are you going to do with the 2-3 top-class picks after they mature in three years and want to compete, and you're still a heap of garbage?

They'll still own their rights and there aren't many players coming off ELCs start demanding trades. Ultimately they have to get better and that means out of Eklund, Bordeleau, Smith, Edstrom, Musty, Bystedt, Mukhamadullin, etc they need more hits than misses and some impact players out of what they have now and will add to later. Getting Celebrini would be a real nice step in that direction.

Especially without a good veteran backbone and a G. The standings this year are dominated by goaltending. BTW, has the Sommer's legacy of destroying the prospects in the minor leagues been overcome finally? Barracuda is performing just as well as the Sharks. Mirroring.

I know he has an impossible task and by the time the Sharks are ready to compete again he’ll be long gone but man oh man, Quinn just seems like a limp noodle. Absolutely no push-back, no anger at how bad they are, no pride in how they play. Just give up goal after goal and respond with… with… nothing. These are professionals who look like they hate being on the ice.
They suck, that’s not his fault, but the way they play for him and his inability to get them to be anything other than roadkill is getting rather tiresome. I know him and Grier are close but enough with this nonsense.

This season can not end fast enough. All we can hope is that next year is better then whatever this season was.

They did it again to Chicago, haha. The tank is in top gear.
Will make it all the more maddening when the Blackhawks win the lottery again.
