I would take Perry if he's healthy & at the right price. Pair him with Thornton on the 3rd line, Get him in front of the net on the PP + He's a S*** disturber for the other team.. The Key is HEALTHY & COST Given Perry age and health issues of late I pass on him. Assuming they sign Jumbo (seems likely) you have too many guys with health concerns going into the season. Jumbo is old and has been hurt the past few season. Two knees and this past postseason pull a groin. EK65 just came off major surgery and has not been fully healthy for an entire season for two years now. I dont think you can add another injury risk guy to this lineup. Marleau is older. What if DW could get all 3 for next to nothing. Would you rather have Melker at his contract or Perry for less? just 1 year only

Perry is a fucking dickhead. I really don't want his kind here. Yeah I dont like him one bit either but if I had to choose between him or Melker for the minimum I take Perry. Melker is that bad. Pete trusts Haley with a broken leg over Melker. That tells you everything you need to know.

Perry is a fucking dickhead. I really don't want his kind here. This is exactly what the Sharks need. We need a villain. Imagine the 3rd line we could have with Perry, Thornton and Marleau. The Geritol Line.

I feel like Perry could be useful but he could be nothing. In any sense they got that grit/skill combo in Kane finally and he’s not going anywhere.
Most guys when the body has taken a beating and age is catching up aren’t, and often can’t, just go running around hitting people and stirring things up like they used to.
It kind of worked with Torres, failed miserably with Burish, and didn’t work at all with Galiardi so maybe going after the guys who used to haunt you isn’t a go-to strategy.

Both are a crap shoot. I would argue Marleau’s decline has been less precipitous and he’s been far healthier. I can see why Perry’s brand would be more popular but at his age with his injury history, I don’t see him moving the needle much in where he’d play on this team. Also it’s fair to wonder how much of Perry’s ways came about because he had back up all time on tough Ducks teams virtually his whole career.

I hated J.R. until he became a shark... I suppose Perry could have a similar effect? If he would play for peanuts on maybe a two-way I suppose, give it a shot. Low risk-potential high reward. Like the Scott Gomez experiment. Not really exciting but was a little productive and revived his career for a little longer. Only real plus Perry has going for him is drive from the buy-out.

Is Timo going to settle for a bridge contract to allow for the signing of Thornton (1 yr) Marleau (1 year), Perry (1 year)?
