Labanc for 1m makes no sense. Cunt hair above league min after 56pt season? I hope Doug finds a good use for the space In an interview Lebanc said he knew the Sharks needed cap space and told DW that he would take a 1 year deal. He will have arbitration rights after this season and next year the Sharks will have an additiona $1.5 mil in cap space with the Paul Martin buyout coming off the books. Labanc is betting on himself and his numbers improving with added ice time with Pavelski's departure. Sounds like a win/win for LaBanc and the Sharks...makes me appreciate him a little more also.

The foreigner that injured his knee last season. Can't remember his name www.nhl.com/player/radim-simek-8480160Coming off significant knee surgery. Hopefully he is ready to fully go at the start. The last four seasons Braun played a minimum of 78 games so he is durable and carried quite a bit of ice time. Last season -14 is an outlier to his career numbers and maybe Jones did not help him here or maybe it’s on him but his role must be filled. Braun was a good skater and could cover ground with effective D stick work, but only had an average shot and below average hitting ability, which stands out for a D-man. too polite in front of his own goalie. he was durable but I'll be glad to see someone else soak up those minutes. With 88 & 65 now clocking most of the right side minutes, Brauns importance diminished. He's a 20 minute a night guy, Deboer can't give Braun 20 minutes anymore. Philly fans should see his up & down sides quickly. He got heckled a lot from my section. Simek was good with Burns but it was for such a short time period (40 games), simply bringing back that kind of Mojo isn't guaranteed but I hope it works out. Sharks D is in better shape heading into the season than the forward lines are. and then there's that big fucking wildcard called Jones...

Last year was also the first year Braun wasn't playing 100% of the time with Vlasic. Vlasic also had a terrible start to the season. I believe most of the analytics community believe Vlasic to be overrated and trending down for a couple seasons now. He brought his game up in the playoffs though. Partly why I would’ve been okay moving him this off-season in order to keep Pavelski but that was always a long shot.

So just off the top of my head. We lost Pavelski Gus Donkey Braun I know there's more, "but it's still early in my house, so not thinking clearly" all to sign EK65 and Mitch Marner to an offer sheet. Makes sense to Me! That’s about right. Seems so cold to dump Pavs who did nothing wrong, was durable and played some huge post season hockey for you as did Braun who was also durable for a guy that has had major problems with health lately but here we are. The loss of Donkey is a good thing. Ya, Pavs was a victim of bad timing in a cap world. Cap didn't go up, he had an excellent year which gave a reason for a raise, plus the term he wanted couldn't really fit before the expansion. That is probably a big factor in landing the free agents that are/were available that Dougie is probably drawing a hard line in the sand on. And I think Braun was just a victim of he could be moved and Vlassic couldn't (or at least not easily).

If I was smarter I would’ve asked him how he feels about being on the same team as Corey Perry I would settle with just a high 5, Pavs seems like a great dude. But I do wonder what his answer to the Perry question would be with no cameras or reporters around. Que the Billy Madison: You blew it! lol. And for the record I would have done the same as you lol.

Does anyone else hope that he flops this season, and then the blues have to eat his salary on a non-starter? I kinda do... But I'm low-key kinda petty that way lol.

If I was smarter I would’ve asked him how he feels about being on the same team as Corey Perry Update, I went to the golf tournament yesterday and asked if he’s really going to play on the same team as Corey Perry as he was walking by on 17. Got a grin out of it. I feel as though I’ve done my job.

DENVER – The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has signed forward Andre Burakovsky to a one-year contract for the upcoming 2019-20 season. Colorado acquired the 24-year-old winger in a trade with the Washington Capitals on June 28.
Burakovsky appeared in 76 games for the Capitals this past season, tallying 25 points (12g/13a). He helped Washington capture its first Stanley Cup championship in 2017-18, returning to the lineup after missing the first two rounds and recording six points (2g/4a) in 13 postseason games.

What do you think SharkHaywood. from Scott Gleeson of USA TODAY, The Philadelphia bar that inspired the St. Louis Blues' "Gloria" fad is seeking money from the items — T-shirts, hats and other small merchandise — that were sold inside and outside of Enterprise Center during the team's run to its first Stanley Cup. Attorney Rob McKinley, who represents The Jacks NYB, told USA TODAY Sports that the Blues' postgame victory song, Laura Branigan's 1982 disco classic "Gloria," was only part of the equation. The fanbase's rallying cry, "Play Gloria!" began at The Jacks NYB, and as such, McKinley said that idea comes with a price for others making a profit off it. "The bottom line is they created this brand and supported the St. Louis Blues and their fans on the Stanley Cup run," McKinley said Tuesday. continued

from William Douglas of NHL.com,
Members of the United States Senate and lead sponsors of the Congressional Gold Medal bill are urging fellow senators to sign legislation that would award Willie O'Ree, the NHL's first black player, the highest civilian honor bestowed by Congress.
If approved, O'Ree would join a prestigious group of Congressional Gold Medal recipients that includes Jackie Robinson, the first black player in Major League Baseball, and civil rights pioneers Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., and Coretta Scott King.
"Please join us in honoring Willie O'Ree for his extraordinary contributions to sport, service and society by cosponsoring the Willie O'Ree Congressional Gold Medal Act," Sens. Tim Scott (R-South Carolina) and Debbie Stabenow (D-Michigan) wrote in 'Dear Colleague' letters.

From NHL.com yesterday
Here's another Shark 'no name' prospect who should compete for a top 9 spot among the forwards this fall - Joachim Blichfeld
WHL player of the year last season, led that league in scoring. Similar impressive post-draft rise like Ivan Chekhovich, both drafted 3 years ago and now each at 21, looking like prime plums to crack the NHL lineup. No more sending these boys back to Juniors, time to put up or shut-up at the Pro level. So this fall let's see whats been cookin, DW!
