The DNC is flat out lying and the so called media does not care. We all know Vox is a right wing pro trump blog..... Republican congressional leaders chastised House Judiciary Committee Democrats on Tuesday for allegedly refusing to call Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz to testify, after he released a bombshell report describing how former FBI Director James Comey violated agency rules in his handling of sensitive information. House GOP Conference Chairwoman Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., both accused Democrats of snubbing a witness they claim could provide information that undermines efforts to impeach President Trump. “The Democrats on the Judiciary Committee will not bring him in to testify," Cheney said at a press conference. "They refuse to do that, and we think that that just fundamentally shows you their lack of substantive concern for issues that really should matter, when the director of the FBI conducts himself that way, because they’re too focused on political attacks on the president." McCarthy echoed Cheney, pointedly criticizing Chairman Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., who is moving this week to hold a vote formalizing procedures for an impeachment investigation. “Every time inside Congress, when an inspector general has brought forth an important report, we’ve brought them before a committee to actually hear what they had found,” McCarthy said, arguing that Horowitz’s investigation was an “appropriate” subject to be heard by the committee. “Maybe that is a disagreement with the promise that chairman Nadler made for his political friends, that he would just impeach this president regardless of facts.” Nadler’s office did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment. Nadler has defended his course of action in pursuing Trump-related investigations, including high-profile hearings with former Special Counsel Robert Mueller and other figures. “President Trump went to great lengths to obstruct Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation, including the President’s attempts to remove the Special Counsel and encourage witnesses to lie and to destroy or conceal evidence. Anyone else who did this would face federal criminal prosecution," Nadler said in a statement Monday.
www.vox.com/2019/7/24/20708377/mueller-testimony-investigation-curtailed-obstruction-justice
Former special counsel Robert Mueller testified on Wednesday that his investigation was not hindered or curtailed, reassuring anyone worried that he wasn’t able to fully carry out the inquiry.
Mueller made this assertion in response to questioning from Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA), the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee. Collins, in a series of rapid-fire questions, asked the special counsel whether “your investigation [was] curtailed or stopped or hindered?”
“No,” Mueller responded.

There is only one thing that may settle this:
The text or the transcript of the original report given to the President before he commented on it.

Those idiots in Sacramento are out of control I know, right? How dare these fat cat swamp politicians advocate for the rights of workers over our kind and benevolent corporate overlords!?! TRO Uber has been bleeding money since day 1 and it recently got worse. I have heard from some drivers that this job sucks even for part time and other say it is ok for part time. Four months after Uber went public, the stock is trading about 25% below the initial public offering price. Last month, the ride-hailing company reported its largest-ever quarterly loss of $5.24 billion. www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-09-10/uber-makes-further-cuts-to-its-staff-as-losses-pile-up

The co called media schooled yet again. Bonus a Woman of color involved:
Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told an NBC anchor Wednesday it was not accurate to suggest that Russia flipped the 2016 election in President Trump's favor.
"I don’t think there is any evidence of that. And, you know, I really don’t think that’s a good conversation to have," she told NBC anchor Savannah Guthrie. Guthrie had just asked whether Russian interference "actually worked" and blocked a victory by former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
"I think that really does devalue the people in Wisconsin and Michigan and others who decided to vote for President Trump," Rice added in her response.
"Whether you like this president or not, whether you believe that he should have been president or not, let’s give the credit to the Americans who went out and voted for somebody who they thought would bring change."

The left has no shame? Playing the race card yet again. This is all they know it seems:
President Trump's pick for a seat on the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals adamantly denied that he harbors racist beliefs or favors "racial purity" during his confirmation hearing Wednesday morning, as he responded to inflammatory accusations against him.
During questioning, Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., observed that nominee Steven Menashi has faced “unusually personal” and “vicious” attacks of this nature, alluding to a segment on Rachel Maddow’s MSNBC show in which she discussed a law journal article Menashi wrote in 2010, titled "Ethnonationalism and Liberal Democracy." Maddow cited Menashi’s use of the term “ethnonationalism” to suggest he is aligned with white nationalists, alleging he's on the “fringe of racial thinking.”
“I absolutely am not,” Menashi said. “It’s hurtful and I think it misrepresents what I’ve written.”
The article, published in the University of Pennsylvania Journal of International Law, was about how Israel can be both a Jewish state and a liberal democracy. In that context, he explained how there is a precedent for democratic countries to have a common ethnicity, with shared qualities and ties to that people’s diaspora.
When asked about the article during the hearing, Menashi said he was merely saying Israel is not out of the norm. He said he was not proposing the U.S. should have an ethnically homogeneous society, but noted that U.S. citizens do have a shared identity based on “constitutional traditions."
Menashi said not only is he not a proponent of “racial purity,” he is particularly sensitive to ethnic or religious discrimination because his family members were victims of such persecution. He is the descendant of Iraqi Jews, and his paternal grandparents fled Iraq after Kurdish neighbors helped smuggle his grandmother out of her city.
From there, the family went to Iran, and his father was born in Tehran. They eventually fled that country “because they could not trust the courts to be impartial,” as they would not accept testimony from Jews.
Menashi said that on his mother’s side, his grandfather escaped Ukraine and fled to Poland, eventually making his way to the Bronx. Relatives who remained in Europe were murdered in the Holocaust.

The current state of journalism is really a bad joke. I guess bias just runs deeper than professionalism. The media tries over and over to push the DNC view and ignore very easy examples of flat out lying and bad policy on the left. The right has there own issues and they are correctly called out on them, I am all for that but this should be equal in how the media reports political BS. They have lost the trust of close to half of the people and they dont care. This is religion to them.

They are not employees only because Uber has classified (or misclassified, depending on your opinion) them as such and the legal process is a very slow one. They will have a lot of problems contesting claims after Dynamex. Uber had a great idea but thought they could make a lot more money by being a glorified taxi company rather than developing some software and licensing it to others. It’s why Air BnB is being successful - they don’t set prices, anyone is welcome and users are blacklisted based on reviews. Uber is similar however they require drivers to have a certain car condition, and they don’t allow the drivers to compete on price. TRO

The best part of this case is the SCOTUS putting a stop to a single activist district court judge ordering an injunction across the entire USA. The system was never designed for district court level judges to have that kind of power. www.apnews.com/a817cf3affb04f3d8ad3c4940366a5fe

282 Comments Nigerian-born rap artist Jesse Ekene Nweke Conable called for his fans to “shoot” white people while urging, “Take them as slaves and treat them even worse.”
What a fantastic role model for the kids.
The comments were made in a rant posted on a closed Instagram group called Barasvarta (“Blacks only”), according to news outlet Samhällsnytt.
“We, blacks” will “become number one and take over these whites,” said Conable, adding, “Like these whites took us as slaves we should take them as slaves and treat them even worse.”
“We’ll take their bitches and we’ll take their money,” he continued. “To be perfectly honest, we will be the best race ever. We are African warriors, they are not on our level. This is just the beginning, black power.”

The so called community: The employee of a Florida construction manufacturing company who allegedly stabbed five people on Wednesday did so after he learned he might be fired, according to police. Antwann Brown, 41, was charged with five counts of attempted murder after he allegedly used a pocketknife to stab five people, which included employees of Dyke Industries and one other person who was at the Tallahassee business for a job interview, the city's police department said.

Deep state is getting a what they deserve. This is a good start, more to come.
U.S. Attorney Jessie Liu has recommended moving forward with charges against Andrew McCabe, Fox News has learned, as the Justice Department rejects a last-ditch appeal from the former top FBI official.
McCabe -- the former deputy and acting director of the FBI -- appealed the decision of the U.S. attorney for Washington all the way up to Jeffrey Rosen, the deputy attorney general, but the department rejected that request, according to a person familiar with the situation.
The potential charges relate to DOJ inspector general findings against him regarding misleading statements concerning a Hillary Clinton-related investigation.
A source close to McCabe’s legal team said they received an email from the Department of Justice which said, "The Department rejected your appeal of the United States Attorney’s Office’s decision in this matter. Any further inquiries should be directed to the United States Attorney’s Office."
McCabe, who recently was hired as a paid CNN commentator, spent 21 years with the FBI. He became the acting director in May 2017 after President Trump fired former director James Comey.
Last month, a source close to the process told Fox News that McCabe had a “target on his back” because of the Justice Department inspector general findings. Then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired McCabe in March 2018 after the inspector general found he had repeatedly misstated his involvement in a leak to The Wall Street Journal regarding an FBI investigation into the Clinton Foundation.
The IG report faulted McCabe for leaking information to Wall Street Journal reporter Devlin Barrett for an Oct. 30, 2016 story titled “FBI in Internal Feud Over Hillary Clinton Probe.” The story -- written just days before the presidential election – focused on the FBI announcing the reopening of the Clinton investigation after finding thousands of her emails on a laptop belonging to former Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner, who was married to Clinton aide Huma Abedin.

The primary arguments I hear are that the drivers are the core business at Uber and that they are not permitted to compete on price with the other independent contractors by Uber. It would be interesting if drivers were made employees how the market would react as, as you brought up, you could drive for Uber or Lyft but not both. It would be a more steady income for drivers however it would also mean they would likely be subjected to shift work and lose some of the benefits of being a contractor like setting your own hours. There are quality arguments for both classifications. Personally, I think they should be contractors and Uber should allow their drivers to compete on price with each other. They already have different price tiers for share/standard/x and vehicle sizes - why not make their app into more of a resale marketplace where drivers can set their rate? Also, Uber can go die in a fire. TRO

I do love hot mic moments:
Democratic presidential candidate Marianne Williamson became the latest public figure to experience a hot mic gaffe during an appearance on Eric Bolling’s Sinclair show last week when she told an aide, “Fox News is nicer to me than the lefties.”
“What does it say that Fox News is nicer to me than the lefties are?” she asked after her interview while her microphone was still on. “What does it say that the conservatives are nicer to me? It’s such a bizarre world. I’m such a lefty — I mean, I’m a serious lefty — but I understand why people on the right call them ‘godless.’ I didn’t think the left is as mean as the right. They are.”

Also, Uber can go die in a fire. TRO There are contractors, especially of the government business, who are also not able to compete on price. The point of the drivers being able to work or not to work as it pleases them, or to work for as many service providers (e.g. Doordash) I think is much more solid argument for them being contractors than anything else. If they become employees they will have to commit for some minimal volume of work, and certain quality of it to qualify for benefits, too.
But indeed, Uber could very well set their own price for the trip the driver would pay them back and then add his or her own margin to it; Uber may set a recommended margin to simplify their task.
