Any word on Hertl? I dont totally buy this: Hertl took an awkward fall late in the third period of Tuesday's game versus the Oilers, Sharks beat writer Sheng Peng reports. Hertl got tangled up with an Oiler late in the contest and went to the locker room. He has recently dealt with a minor knee issue, so it's concerning to see Hertl be forced to leave early for any reason. After the game, Peng relayed that Hertl said he was fine. Consider the Czech forward day-to-day currently, but it sounds like he should be good to go Thursday against the Golden Knights. This prediction worked out. Even a broken clock......

Watch as Alex Chiasson gets leveled by Ryan Graves with a clean hit. His teammate Adam Larsson is then given a game misconduct for what looked like an elbow towards T.J. Tynan.

The Hockey Central panel go over the statement released by Bill Peters and the short media availability held by Brad Treliving. If he want back in the locker room and apologized right after the incident that is good it does not excuse the language but should factor in to his character. Also in the ten years since has there been an issue?

Also in the ten years since has there been an issue? Interesting, but not surprising, that the story I read about this a couple of days ago conveniently left out the part about an immediate team wide apology. I’ll still be shocked if he’s not fired.

The Calgary Flames have announced that head coach Bill Peters has tendered his resignation from the club, effective immediately, following and investigation from the team and confirmation of both the use of racial slurs and physical abuse of players.
Geoff Ward will continue as the club’s interim head coach.

Just to get a taste of the Sharks' depth:
SJ Barracuda was 0-5-1 to start November, and they're 7-11-1 now, last in the Pacific.

Meh. things happen in a blink and if Eakin isnt crouching over the biscuit, thats a shoulder corner bump that happens 40 times a game. lazy hit maybe but I don't see any malice.

For everyone bitching about Martin Jones
NEW YORK (Dec. 2, 2019) – Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon, Calgary Flames goaltender David Rittich and San Jose Sharks goaltender Martin Jones have been named the NHL’s “Three Stars” for the week ending Dec. 1.
THIRD STAR – MARTIN JONES, G, SAN JOSE SHARKS
Jones went 3-0-0 with a 1.98 goals-against average and .935 save percentage in three appearances to backstop the Sharks (15-12-1, 31 points) to three wins in four games and into third place in the Pacific Division. He earned two victories against his former team, the Los Angeles Kings, making 33 saves in both a 4-3 overtime win Nov. 25 and a 4-1 triumph Nov. 29. Jones, who went 10-2-0 in November (2.62 GAA, .902 SV%), closed the month with 21 stops in a 4-2 victory against the Arizona Coyotes Nov. 30. The 29-year-old North Vancouver, B.C., native has compiled a 12-8-1 record with a 3.03 goals-against average and .896 save percentage through 22 total outings this season.

Don’t forget it was Jones who made a big save vs the Yotes after going down 0-2 on two complete botched D zone plays. No chance for him to stop the first two but shutting down the breakaway was the play of the game with the Logan goal soon after. If he does not make that stop I don’t think the sharks win.

Ha! had breakfast with my buddy this am, he's STILL worked up about this play near end of the Winnipeg game last Wednesday. Mark Scheifele is a pussy he says and should accept a good clean hit near an opponent goal. I agree. Scheifele saw it as a dirty hit in garbage time. we say it's a good clean hit and Scheifele needs to keep his fkn head up in the danger zone. even if it's 5-1, you keep playing hard, yes? love the upper-cut Dillon gives Scheifele for his troubles. man, I dig #4.

His numbers are not all on him. The D zone play and horrendous turnovers have to stop. The team is built to lean forward with 88 and 65 leading from the D zone at the expense of stay at home D play. Tough to win this way in the postseason. That said they can play a more responsible version of their current game.

This burst of soild play of late moves Jones up to a .896 SV% over 22 games this season, 44th in the league. I'm encouraged, but Carolina is right that 31 needs to maintain his current hot play over a longer period to feel like he's turning some corner now. Can he please maintain a .905 maybe? Is that too much to ask?

They should be watching video of the first four minutes of the Yotes game for motivation. This is well beyond a couple of game issue.

Hopefully, the numbers going up are a reflection of the D playing a little tighter and Jones doing better. If they can keep the goals against down and add some toughness, they would be tough to beat.
