Probably have but even with Kadri they’ve lacked some jam since Matt Martin left. Clifford has never really been the same since his rookie year when he came out fighting like he was on fire and got his bell rung several times. But he’s been through the playoffs, grinds, plays a clean game, and can hold his spot on the fourth line. At half price it’s a worthy add. Having said all that, this deal is more about Campbell than Clifford. That's correct, I wonder if LA wanted to get rid of Clifford more than Toronto wanted him. As of Campbell, they looked very hard for the goalies on minimum pay. There's no other reason to select him otherwise.
BTW, all Quick's deputies always performed well in LA: Bernier, Scrivens, Jones, Budaj, Campbell...
Play solid defense and an average goalie can look good?

Until he gets injured again........... Great player but the poor kid can't catch a break. If he keeps getting injured it might be time to jettison his ass next season

According to a ESPN alert the Sharks traded Kevin LeBanc to the Rangers for Goalie Alexander Georgiev No. That Wyshynski &Co. with another stupid listicle of what he thinks should be a trade. Not even worth a link, but the headline is: With that in mind, we tasked our panel of NHL editorial staff with coming up with a series of trades that would make rational sense for both clubs involved.
Particular idea of Labanc for Georgiev comes from Filipovic.

China? I thought most of the sticks were made in Canada
from Matt Porter of the Boston Globe,
The infectious disease that has stifled life in China has ripple effects for National Hockey League players.
The highly customized sticks used by some 75 percent of the NHL are made in small batches at Chinese factories. With work and travel halted in that country since late January as the country combats an outbreak of coronavirus, the NHL has been unable to get fresh stock in the middle of its competitive season.
During Thursday’s Sabres-Red Wings broadcast, NBC Sports analyst Pierre Maguire said equipment managers told him there was a “major shortage” of sticks.
Hockey manufacturers disputed that, but conceded they are worried.
Bauer, headquartered in Exeter, N.H., makes its pro sticks in China, as does its main competitor, Montreal-based CCM.

Finding it hilarious that the same people complaining about the physical abuse Elias Pettersson is taking are probably the same who cried for enforcers and fighting to leave the game.
Cray to think they might be connected eh.

Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid will miss two-to-three weeks with a quad injury, general manager Ken Holland announced Tuesday.
"He's two to three weeks. That's a normal timeline for this injury," Holland said. "We're hoping less... It's not long-term. We'll double-back a week from now."
The general manager added that McDavid will rehab the injury in Toronto during the team's upcoming three-game road trip.
McDavid skated with the team's power play units on Monday but left the ice before the full team portion of the skate. The centre described his injury as a charley-horse after the session.
The 23-year-old was injured in the team's win over Nashville Predators on Saturday with what head coach Dave Tippett referred to as a bruise above his knee.
McDavid sits second in the NHL in points this season behind teammate Leon Draisaitl. He has 30 goals and 81 points in 55 games this season.
