Pavs with a hat trick...cant cheer wont cheer for Dallas Who knew that Pavs was the glue holding the sharks offense together. I know hindsight is 20/20 but maybe should have let EK65 walk and sign Pavs. At least we would have retained the 1st rounder. I know I may be retarded but I'm still holding onto the shred of a chance that EK65 finally "arrives" this fall.

The problem was the really bad drafting that didn't produce anything decent in the 5-8th forward group. Pavs is not worth the money he's paid in Dallas, and not worth 6M he would be getting in SJ. The roster was badly constructed with both Pavs and Karlsson in 2018.
Frankly, both Pavs, and Karlsson, and Thornton and Marleau, too had to go in favor of much younger $4-5M players.

Come on reverse sweep in that Chicago Vegas series! Agree...I’d gladly take the loss in the playoff pool to see Chicago win!

Luxury of having Reavo watch your back is it allows everyone else to play bigger than they are.

This. We need 2 top 6 players and a top 9 player. We've lost these guys to age or attrition over the past 7 seasons or so and the team's scoring reflects this.

How many former sharks will score today? That is a great question. We now stand at three. I think it stays there.

How can you not want Pavs to win??? Aside from Perry winning too. And fuck Dallas. Still
His contract is absolutely worth it when he hattricks a playoff win and keeps it up. He’s a gamer that shows up when pressure is on. Long track record. Not common.
Dilly losing to the isle. Braun might have a shot. Flyer fans haven’t been crazy about his game

Flyer fans haven’t been crazy about his game I just think resigning him to the squad is is would cement them further without cap space to address some of the other major gaps. With that said, letting him go and then not addressing any of the gaps just added one additional major gap.

Solid career for sure, not a great season at Dallas but now is when it counts

Goodrow has looked good, he might have best shot and deserving And Nieto has been looking good, Donskoi not terrific but on the board today. Pavelski terrific; love seeing these guys succeed. Coyle has been superior for B's. But hey - we have Burns and Karlsson. Bet all those teams wish they had those guys eh.

Reading through the projected lineups for these playoff games and you really are just how poorly constructed the Sharks are/were. Guys that are being healthy scratched and shuffled in and out of the lineup depending on performance (individual or team) are the guys the Sharks has to acquire, as in, didn’t have it.
Seriously though it’s a fun exercise. Just take today’s games and yesterday’s games and see how many scratches would be playing in San Jose if they had to play tomorrow.

Dale Hawerchuk, the leading scorer in the first iteration of the Winnipeg Jets and a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame, has died, his son Eric announced over Twitter on Tuesday.
Dale Hawerchuk was 57 and had stomach cancer. The forward was a six-time 100-point scorer for the Jets and helped make them a consistent Stanley Cup Playoff team during the 1980s. He held the franchise career records for goals (379) and points (929) until Shane Doan, captain of the Arizona Coyotes and the last member of the original Jets still active in the NHL, surpassed them during the 2015-16 season. By then, the relocated franchise was concluding its 20th season in Arizona after moving from Winnipeg in 1996.
Hawerchuk was a star almost from the time he began playing competitive hockey at age 4. He played junior hockey with Cornwall of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and had 103 and 183 points in his two seasons, helping the Royals win the Memorial Cup each time.
The Jets took Hawerchuk with the No. 1 pick in the 1981 NHL Draft and he was an instant star, winning the Calder Trophy as the top rookie in the NHL after scoring 45 goals and 103 points in 1981-82 and becoming the first player to reach 100 points as an 18-year-old. The Jets improved by a then-NHL record 48 points from the previous season, finished second in the Norris Division and qualified for the playoffs for the first time.

"When you watch games, when you watch (Carolina Hurricanes coach Rod) Brind'Amour on the bench and you watch (New York Islanders coach) Barry (Trotz) on the bench and (Boston Bruins coach) Bruce Cassidy, guys that I know, they're right into it, they're fighting for their team. I think that's what you miss when you've been involved in the game for your whole life. As a coach for X amount of years, you miss the fact that you're not there being able to battle for your team."
"I would love to coach as soon as I can. I know I've been around for a while. But I didn't start until I was 40, so I haven't been around that long and I think I have the energy, because this is all I've done my whole life, to do it again. You've gotten awards and won divisions and that, but the goal since I've been 4 years old is to win the Stanley Cup.
"So I want to be in a position to have one more shot at it, at least."
-Bruce Boudreau.
