Hey look emotion in a regular season game. Better suspend everyone involved. www.youtube.com/index?&desktop_uri=%2FNot the best display from Wilson but reading the comments you think he decapitated someone. Hockey fans are so soft these days. I’d take Wilson on the Sharks any day.

Glad to see no supplemental discipline for Wilson. Just the max fine for the punch on Buchnevich. I'm cool with that considering his history. Everything else was okay though. All of that was stuff that happens not infrequently in NHL hockey. I could easily take an hour or so and find a dozen similar incidents that have happened in scrums and stuff.

The Calgary Flames seem to be in a particularly precarious position ahead of the Seattle Kraken's expansion draft this summer, but it seems things have become a touch clearer, now.
According to Sportsnet's Eric Francis, Milan Lucic has agreed to waive his no-movement clause leading up the event, as to preserve a protected slot up front for Flames general manager Brad Treliving.
It's possible that this move backfires for Lucic, who says he prefers to remain with the Flames, even wanting to finish his career in Calgary. However it seems unlikely that Seattle jumps at the chance to take the lumbering forward, who just eclipsed 1,000 games for his career, given his cost and capabilities at this point.
Still, it's a selfless move from Lucic — one not every player has been willing to make, and one that could avoid serious consequences. Kevin Bieksa, for example, turned down that request when he was with the Anaheim Ducks, a decision that ultimately forced maybe the most egregious mistake, when an elite defender in Shea Theodore was scooped up by the Vegas Golden Knights through the expansion process.
Unfortunately for Calgary, Lucic's decision to stick out his neck won't solve every issue facing Treliving, who has plenty of work to do in order to minimize the damage. With Matthew Tkachuk, Johnny Gaudreau, Sean Monahan, Elias Lindholm, Mikael Backlund, Andrew Mangiapane and Dillon Dube each requiring protection, it's likely that the Flames will have to opt for the 7-3-1 expansion formation, which likely means it will have to expose one of four high-value defenders.
That means that between Mark Giordano, Noah Hanifin, Rasmus Andersson, and Christopher Tanev, one of them will have to be served up — with perhaps the captain being the front runner for exposure.
This is unless the Flames opt to protect four forwards and four defenders, and are willing to expose a significant portion of their core, losing either Backlund, Mangiapane or Dube. This under the working assumption that Tkachuk, Gaudreau, and Monahan are all still in the mix.
It's expected to be a busy offseason for Treliving, so it's possible that clarity is brought to the situation before Seattle is ready to make its pick.
However there's still obvious work to do, even after Lucic agreed to do his part.

The Rangers owner is off his rocker I actually agree with him...Parros is unfit to do his job. NHL player safety is routinely inconsistent and unfair. I do actually agree with Parros for once though...Wilson, who has been properly suspended in the past, shouldn’t have been suspended for this incident.

The Rangers owner is off his rocker Straight up embarrassing. Horrifying act of violence. Gimme a break. Looks good on them after they traded Brendan Lemieux. Sharks did this when Torres got suspended against the Kings in the playoffs and got whacked with a 100K fine. Gotta imagine the Rangers will be out a lot more money than Wilson is which is alright with me.

I feel like I’m one of the few unashamed fans out there who’d say thank you to all involved from Tom Wilson to George Parros for giving us a unique, interesting, and entertaining game tonight.
I’m sure a ton a fans tuned in to see Blue Jackets-Predators instead right?
The NHL might want to publicly distance themselves from stuff like this but behind closed doors, they, the Rangers, and the Capitals all know this stuff gets eyes on the screen, people in the (limited) seats, and folks talking about them.

I guess the track record of Player Safety vis a vis Tom Wilson kind of proves your suggestion, that you know, look he’s put himself in this position but the spotlight’s on him and everything he does is scrutinized to the nth degree and probably far more than other players doing similar things. And again he’s earned that. He’s put himself in that position. But the fact of the matter is that is how the Department of Player Safety has treated him over time. I can’t get into the rationale for this particular decision other than I think it was a little bit different than anything else he’s ever done. But the fact of the matter is he is held to a higher standard and probably rightly so.
-Bill Daly.

Dolan pisses away $250,000 in lunch and dinner bills. Fucken NHL doesn't have a clue how to deal with the owners. And everyone at the NHL front offices work for the owners. Right Jeromy Jacobs?

Dolan should toss extra 750K in advance and issue three more statements: one for Bettman, one for Bill Daly and one for the NHLPA.

The part that I believe that should have had a suspension is at the beginning when Wilson punched the back of the head, with a glove on while the player was face down on the ice (I understand emotions but no part of that belongs in the game). The rest of it was entertaining though.
