And with the Kings winning last night, Sharks are in dead last along with Calgary and below Calgary without even playing any games yet! Here's to a bottom feeder Season yet again! lol! Kings might push for the playoffs. This whole division is so mediocre. Everyone knows Vegas is the top dog and Anaheim and San Jose are basement dwelling. Edmonton should get in on McDavid/Draisaitl alone but two more are gonna make it and I wouldn’t be surprise who doesn’t out of the remaining four. I kinda hope Calgary makes it just so we can see a Battle of Alberta playoff series. |

They have an older group and are banking on guys past their prime years to be difference makers and play big roles. I guess we will see but I just can’t imagine them playing well enough over a whole season to be better than four other teams in this division. |

I thought the TNT game presentation was much better that ESPN.
I’ll admit that my expectations have risen in the past couple of weeks. There was a lot of early hubbub about how Turner and ESPN were going to change hockey coverage, and without proof I was worried it would simply be NBC’s coverage packaged into another, albeit more widely available, platform.
But after seeing ESPN make the commitment to a studio show, seeing the Turner media preview, I’m more confident that hockey coverage is headed in a better direction in the United States. The big thing is having two networks pushing each other, I like that TNT wants to beat ESPN and vice versa — I think both hired a rules expert for that reason, and once Wayne Gretzky was courted by both, the runner-up in signing Gretzky went and hired Mark Messier.

The death of Jimmy Hayes, who played for the Devils among four teams over seven NHL seasons, occurred with fentanyl and cocaine in his system, his widow and father told the Boston Globe on Sunday.
“I was completely shocked,’’ Kristen Hayes told the Globe of her response to the toxicology report. “I was so certain that it had nothing to do with drugs. I really thought it was a heart attack or anything that wasn’t that [drugs]. … It didn’t make any sense, so it was hard. I was hoping to get a different phone call when they called. I was hoping to get some clarity and I was shocked to hear that it was that. … He never showed any signs of a struggle at home.’’
Hayes, whose younger brother Kevin played for the Rangers from 2014-19 and currently plays for the Philadelphia Flyers, was pronounced dead at his home in Milton, Mass., at the age of 31 on Aug. 23.
An autopsy was performed two days postmortem on the ex-player, who retired following the 2017-18 season, but the cause of death was still unclear until the toxically came back. The family learned of the results on Friday. The listed cause of death, according to the Globe, was “acute intoxication due to the combined effects of fentanyl and cocaine.”
Kevin Hayes Sr., Jimmy’s father, told the Globe that, as “an addict myself,” he was less surprised by the revelation of drugs in his son’s system. He doesn’t want his son to be stigmatized as a junkie “because he wasn’t” and hopes spreading the story will be able to prevent more drug-related deaths.
“I hope getting Jimmy’s story out there can save someone’s life,” Hayes Sr. told the Globe. “If this can save someone from the pain, great. It’s just so sad.”

I really don't think something like that would happen. These are problems related to Kane only. Unless the league could show that the Sharks helped him obtain that fake ID I don't think anything would happen to the team.
