Only if there is some ridiculous stat and streak that Buffalo has going. Like Detroit's no scoring a short-handed goal streak.
-Just looked at the lineup.

Buffalo has horrible goaltending and Evander Kane is nowhere in sight. Snow & cold makes em hungry to all play scrappy heads-up hockey.
I really like Sharks chances for a W this afternoon. What could go wrong?
predicting Weatherby gets a Gordie Howe hat trick. Huge night ahead for Jasper.

I still hope Weatherby gets any kind of hat trick though!

So are the Sharks planning to re-sign Hertl or not? I would give it a thumbs up. Halfway point of season fast approaching, so is trade deadline. Hertl will be a UFA before you know it. If management does intend to keep him as a core player, they're starting to run out of runway..

With all the lineup challenges, Weatherby has been dished quality ice time latelty. he was lackluster in 14 uninspiring minutes as a 2C last night. His stock is sinking. pretty good in the face-off circle but he needs to start getting in somebodys way out there. Zero hits in 14 mnutes, for a 6'4" bottom six forward is unacceptable. Get mad Jasper!!

If management does intend to keep him as a core player, they're starting to run out of runway.. Much as a like Hertl, this team is still not playoff-level. Hertl's injury history should be considered too and his next deal will take him well into his 30s. When it comes to the trade deadline, nobody is gonna bring in more for their services than Hertl. And that's league-wide. Not just the Sharks. He's the kind of player teams with cup dreams will droll over.

I would love to see Hertl dished to a contender for a ransom, then re-sign with the sharks in the offseason for a home-town discount. Would that not make him the goat? at least in a sharks uniform?
