I agree 100%...but I can see some folks saying it should be Burns, especially after he finally decided to throw a couple of good hits during the playoffs. Only a woman with a beard would want the Wookie to be the Captain

Equal money and term, I would take Perry over Marleau. Both are a crap shoot. I would argue Marleau’s decline has been less precipitous and he’s been far healthier. I can see why Perry’s brand would be more popular but at his age with his injury history, I don’t see him moving the needle much in where he’d play on this team. Also it’s fair to wonder how much of Perry’s ways came about because he had back up all time on tough Ducks teams virtually his whole career. Ya, but the more I’ve thought about it, a one year minimum contract for Jumbo, Perry and Marleau as a third or fourth line, with EKarlsson making stretch passes could be fun.

If Couture isn’t the next captain this team can suck it. Hertl?

Riley Sheahan may be the 4th line center the Sharks want.
Labanc - Couture - Meier Kane - Hertl - Sorensen Marleau - Thornton - Perry BARRACUDA - Sheahan - Goodrow

I'd be pretty sad to see Pavs go. You can't be mad at him since this is the last time he could get a high dollar contract. We will see if he wants the money, or to win. On a side note, that quote came from Kurs who: If i remember correctly reported EK definitly going to another team. Meeting with Van on or next to the same day he extended way before july 1. So grain of salt i suppose.

Seriously though, I think Pavs is gone and for some reason I'm ok with it.

If Couture isn’t the next captain this team can suck it. Hertl? It seems pretty obvious to me that Couture is the pulse of the team, or at least he should be. I love Hertl's game but Couture has that x-factour, that thing about him, that most guys just simply do not have. Maybe Hertl does too but he hasn't shown it to the degree Couture has, not even close. In fact, no one on this team has.

Hertl? He can't stay healthy if his life depended on it. He's starting to make Martin Havlat look like ironman Since the 2014/15 season included (we remove 13/14 because of the ex-Chief Queen Shitcolor's knee) on Hertl played 368 games over the 5 seasons, Couture played 366.

Logan carries the scoring load in the postseason when it mattered. Give him the C.

Logan is getting the C or there's something really fucked up in this organization!

Brian Burke joins Tim and Sid to talk about how much the media is lied to leading up to free agency and if the free agency process needs to be tweaked with.

Hertl? He can't stay healthy if his life depended on it. He's starting to make Martin Havlat look like ironman Hmm...I don’t think he’s missed that much at all, especially Havlat type numbers, but maybe I’m wrong.

Won’t be popular, but IMO if Pavs flys out, JT should be new team Captain.
Jumbo won’t be close in team scoring race, but I still believe he’s ‘The Man’ in the room and out of anybody else on shark roster, he’s got the most ‘RFN’ factor. Everyone whose played knows, only ONE guy on the bench when chips are down yells out “Right Fucking Now, Boys!!” And everyone responds and goes into higher gear. That’s Jumbo. He should wear the ‘c’ for a year. Plus he’s pretty good at working the Refs.

The Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs are working on a trade centring around defenceman Nikita Zaitsev, per Elliotte Friedman.
Zaitsev has a modified no trade clause that kicks in on Monday and Ottawa is reportedly on his 10-team no trade list.
