I hope DW's answer if Pavelski walks is not Marleau. Maybe Marleau and Perry on the cheap for one Year. Pair them up with Jumbo and You have a line that's scored over 1300 goals in their career with 3500 points. Having said that, I know they're shell of their younger productive self, but it could be a good 3rd line. They will need a top 6 guy. Maybe that's a growing Labanc and Meier. Marleau makes sense if he is signed for 1 million. You don't get 4th liners like that often. But this would not be a tick for tack Pavs to Marleau swap.

We still got Jumbo and Patty. Era extended, court frog. A lot of the Johnny come lately Sharks fans don't remember the team without Pavelski. Jumbo and Marleau were in their glory days back then.

I remember the first game jumbo played here. Instantly turned this team into a contender. They were goi g nowhere before that trade.

If Marleau is on the 19/20 Sharks, I will boycott buying tickets for a season. DW bringing Marleau back means he’s not trying to win the shiney thing. Publicity stunt only.

If Marleau is on the 19/20 Sharks, I will boycott buying tickets for a season. DW bringing Marleau back means he’s not trying to win the shiney thing. Publicity stunt only. www.yahoo.com/sports/patrick-marleau-believes-sharks-good-235055770.htmlPatrick Marleau wants to talk to the San Jose Sharks, but he'll be polite and let them finish the conversations they're already having. The former Shark was bought out of his contract by the Carolina Hurricanes this week, and there's only one team he wants to join. He's made that clear for the last few weeks. "Yeah, it would be nice to come back here [to San Jose] and play where I started," Marleau told The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun. "It would be a good fit for me for sure.'' Marleau spent the first 19 seasons of his NHL career in San Jose. After two years with the Toronto Maple Leafs, the 39-year-old is ready to come back to the Bay Area, as he wants to be close to his wife and kids. But at this stage in his career, Marleau knows he's not the Sharks' top priority. He's well aware they have much more important things to figure out. Captain Joe Pavelski might be on his way out the door. Timo Meier, Joonas Donskoi and Kevin Labanc, among others, need new contracts. Marleau will have to wait until the Sharks settle all of that before they can even think about adding him back to their roster. "It might take a bit longer, I'm not sure," Marleau told LeBrun. "I know they have some things that they're juggling around. We'll see how it goes.'' If the dust settles and the Sharks don't have the salary-cap space or a roster spot for Marleau, he admits that he's open to finding another on the West Coast. "You never know how things are going to play out," Marleau said. "But obviously to be close to here would be beneficial for my family." [RELATED: Sharks' prospects make big impression] One thing is for sure: After 21 seasons in the NHL, Marleau isn't considering hanging up his skates. Not even close. "I'm definitely not ready to retire. I think I've got some really good hockey left in me," Marleau said. "I couldn't give you an exact number of years, but it's going to be more than one, I know that.''

just a hunch but Reimer is coming back to SJ in a bundle with Marleau (ewww), and Dell goes back to Carolina. Taking lazy Marleau back will destroy the Sharks season but at least we’ll have better goaltending and someone to push Jones. GM Waddel will need to eat most of Marleau & Reimers salary. But Reimer only had a .900 Sv % last season. Ugh. Maybe don’t deal with Carolina at all and leave Marleau twisting in the wind.

We still got Jumbo and Patty. Era extended, court frog. God I hate that frog. For someone who is so terrible at their job, he is lucky he is in the one profession that you don't need to be good to keep your job lol. I think Pavs is in the same boat as EK was. At the end of the day its going to come down to: Get paid big money or Win a cup. We shall see where his priority really is.

No way he’s getting big money in San Jose...and no way San Jose (or any team) can win a cup when their goalie has a .896 save percentage.
