TORONTO (July 5, 2019) โ The National Hockey League Playersโ Association (NHLPA) announced that 40 players have elected Salary Arbitration: St. Louis Blues Jordan Binnington The deadline for Club-Elected Salary Arbitration notification is July 6, 2019 at 5 p.m. ET. Salary Arbitration hearings will be held in Toronto from July 20 to Aug. 4, 2019. yea, I really think that Jordan guy will bring a strong case to his arbitration hearing. ๐ Kind of fucked up as it says the Blues are low balling him. The guy that turned you from #30 on January 1st into a cup winner. Fucking scum bags.

The guy that turned you from #30 on January 1st into a cup winner. Fucking scum bags. There's a huge issue with that. The org has every right to be worried he'll slump back down. Yes, they are thankful. But the contract is for the future, and the salary cap says, he who squeezes most out of the low-paid guys, wins.
The CBA should have a clause that allows one-time cap-exempt bonuses to Cup winners. And then Tom Stillman can cede him half of his beer.

Two NHL hockey players were arrested early Sunday for a brawl over a Manhattan nightclub bill, police sources told the Post.
Sonny Milano, who plays for the Columbus Blue Jackets, and A.J. Greer, who plays for the Colorado Avalanche, were inside an apartment on W. Houston Street near Sullivan Street in Greenwich Village at about 6:30 a.m. when they got into a fight with a 28-year-old man, the sources said.
The trio was allegedly arguing over a bill that had been paid an hour earlier at the celeb-frequented Chelsea nightclub 1 Oak, the sources said.
The dispute turned physical, and the two players allegedly assaulted the man, who suffered jaw and rib pain and injuries to the neck and bicep. He called cops but refused medical attention.
Milano and Greer were arrested for the attack and brought to the 6th Precinct station house, according to sources.
The two were being charged with assault, the sources said.

To stimulate some discussion... Assuming (I know, makes ass out of you and me) a few things... 1. Jumbo and Patty sign low dollar deals 2. Labanc signs a little higher bridge deal (hoping 2 years otherwise he will likely get picked up by Seattle) With the little bit of cap room... What could be done to make the 4th line actually intimidating (size and speed). On a side note, in a perfect world... Labanc and somehow Patty assimilate to the top 6, then move Goody to the 3rd line with Jumbo and Sorensen (I that that combo was more dangerous but injuries and what not) Thoughts.... Some clear noticeable holes in the forward lines. and Sharks will need to replace Pavs' 38 goals. Jumbo will be useful and stimulate 3rd line opportunities, Marleau will have marginal contributions and probably be a defensive liability. I see PM being a one season side-show and not really adding to the offense. Not a top six guy at all. Labanc could add something if he comes back. Of course Jones having a bounce back season would be HUGE. I'm disappointed the crease combo will still be Jones/Dell. Sharks as is should again be in the mix for a playoff slot (as we all learned this spring, you just need to get into the dance). but if they're going to have a strong season, they need something home-grown to step up NOW and fill some holes. Im eye-balling Alex True to maybe step in a play a strong 4C. He's a big 6'5" kid with good hands but still a little skinny at age 22. Might be a stretch but if he could anchor the 4th line with solid play that would be awesome and a big hole filled. A rebound by Antti Suomela back to the big club? maybe. I'd bet on Ivan Chekhovich making the Shark roster this season and contributing. DWs Ace in the hole right now. Great offensive growth in his 3rd QMJHL season, word is Roy was blown away by his limited games with the Cuda. Exciting offensive player, strong skater. Remember Chekhovich had a great Shark camp last fall but DW decided to give him another year in Juniors and he exploded for 105 points in 66 games. everything points to Chekhovich being ready for the show, fill a LW slot with impact, maybe better than Labanc.

The whole group is going to have to fill little Joe's points (Maybe Hertle or Meier just have monster years). I'm hoping your wrong about Patty (I guess I'm just a optimistic type person lol) but its not like the Leafs bought him out because he is trash, just a cap situation but we will find out when the season gets underway. I'd say the biggest problem right now is that 4th line not doing anything, Hopefully like you said some homegrown talent can fill in. I havn't caught a Cuda game since last Nov. Should be interesting to see the team sort itself out as we all know, difference between paper and on ice product lol. Plus an actually healthy EK and Burns keeping his level from last season should help out a ton as well.

from Sam McCaig of The Hockey News,
Unrestricted free agency is always a wild time, with rumors running rampant and star players switching teams and millions upon millions of dollars being thrown around. But this summerโs UFA madness was crazier than usual. Here are the five weirdest signings to date:
1. Robin Lehner to Chicago Blackhawks / Semyon Varlamov to New York Islanders (tie) Wait, weโre starting with a tie? Thatโs weird right there. While Lehner-to-the-Hawks and Varlamov-to-the-Isles are downright strange on their own, theyโre also intertwined with each other. The Islanders donโt sign Varlamov if theyโre able to re-sign Lehner. And what exactly happened there, anyway? In the days leading up to free agency, it seemed an almost foregone conclusion that Lehner would remain with the Islanders, given his breakout season on the ice and personal epiphanies off it. Then the calendar flips to July 1 and he immediately bolts for a one-year deal?...
2. Joe Pavelski to Dallas Stars / Corey Perry to Dallas Stars (tie) Another tie? Yes, and itโs weird again, but also unavoidable. Pavelski, the longtime Sharks star and team captain, leaves for Dallas. Perry, the longtime Ducks star and goal-scoring top-liner, leaves for Dallas. Pavelski and Perry, longtime rivals on dueling California teams, are united as Stars teammates. The enemy of my enemy is my friend....
more on both of the above plus three more...

Labanc resigned to a one year deal. Hmm... That sentence makes sense as both "re-signed" and "resigned"

Still need to get Gambrell signed as well.

Still need to get Gambrell signed as well. Gambrell is a two-way minimum bound. Really nothing to show for. I'd rather Sharks bundled him with Melker and/or Dell to ship elsewhere.

I want to happy with the Labanc extension I can only wonder why only one year and why so low? Something to do with Seattle expansion? Arbitration?
