It seems to work OK but sometimes at night it sucks I've had Comcast/Xfinity for 12+ years now and it's been 99% 24/7 flawless. but also the cable infrastructure here in P'ton is tops, so that helps. had to cancel/change into the wifes name 5 years ago when it grew a little pricey (that works!). It's almost $200 each month with ordered movies, internet speed boosters, etc. I think it's worth it because everything works all the time. Now to quit being a cheap ass and finally get NHL channel this fall..

Today another clueless soul decided to ignore my LinkedIn warning not to be contacted about recruitment and sent me what he obviously considered a competitive offer. About 50% of my current salary. The job is in San Francisco. Usually I just report them as abusers and/or spammers, but I wanted to have fun this evening and said that working in the cloaca San Francisco is commands a 100% premium and countered with the quadruple of his offering. Before bonuses and stock options. Recruiter isn't clueless, he's just getting HUGE pressure from his boss to contact you and other techies on your professional tier. He knows the risk. You're a very hot commodity in the Bay Area so play that to your advantage without burning your current employer. Back when recruiters used to chase me, I'd be polite and say vague things like "you can't afford me.." "I'm working on a great project here for the next 2-3 years.." But I'd never totally shut them down because you want to hear what the offers are. Always always always look out for #1.
I've seen software engineers, top tier web designers get cars dropped off at their houses unannounced to tempt a signing with another for 70% more salary. I'd humbly suggest be loyal to your current company but don't ever turn off hearing other offers out there. Keep the LI warning up, but when some hot-shot blows through that stop sign; play a game with them rather than shutting them down completely.
It wasn't a recruiter. It was a SVP business development.

Well in positive news, surprising the wife, by taking her to Fathom event tonight.
The I Love Lucy colorized epsiodes, etc, and how they did this process.
She has no idea, and yes she is a total I Love Lucy fan.
This all part of the little things for our upcoming 6 year Anniversary this Saturday, since we can't actually celebrate with the newer house and all, plus going with her cousin for B-day at the Totally 80's Bar that night too.
Also we were set to do a 4 day planned stay-cation which now is sort of there sine I have a job interview (in-house) this Friday for a different position doing budgets and stuff at our Maintenance and Ops department. However just found out that 2 other people in my department applied too! the younger gal I can beat out, but this other person not so sure of.
Anyway what do I got to lose? I still have my current job even if they don't offer it to me.\
Rock on peeps!

Help Is this a good internet speed? Asking for a friend PING ms 13 DOWNLOAD Mbps 326.41 UPLOAD Mbps 40.17 As long as thats the speed you’re paying for, thats good and should do most anything. If you’re paying for “gig speed”, then thats not good.

This should be a fun case to hear in court:
A Louisiana woman allegedly caught with meth hidden inside her vagina said she didn't know where the drugs came from, police said.
Ashley Beth Rolland, 23, was accused on July 31 of stealing $5,000 from the apartment of a man she'd been staying with for about a week, according to documents published by the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office. The man told the West Monroe Police Department that while he was showering, Rolland swiped his cash and left. Rolland allegedly confessed to police she did take the man's money and left his apartment. The documents said a female correctional officer later searched Rolland and, inside of Rolland's vagina, discovered $6,233 along with "a clear plastic bag" of roughly one gram of meth — which Rolland denied was hers.
Rolland was arrested and charged with theft and narcotics possession, online records from the sheriff's office state. As of Tuesday, she remained behind bars in lieu of $8,000 bond.

To be fair she was on heroin when she stashed the meth.

I think by the time I am done repairing our sprinkler system, I'll be an expert in that. Maybe a new side gig or something?
Good Goc - everytime I correct something, a new problem emerges or a hidden old brass head starts popping off in the lawn somewhere (esp. the back).
Anyway have to repair a PVC pipe that was apparently broken off and hidden in the dirt.
Huzzah! home owning (plus I wish sprinkler systems were on the home inspection report but sadly we believe it to be cosmetic).
Just our luck.
Meantime - Party On People!

Pretty much once a month or so I have to repair a sprinkler. One item you really should check for is a auto gas shut off valve: www3.socalgas.com/stay-safe/safety-and-prevention/earthquake-excess-flow-valves

Got this email this morning
Hey XXXX –
I did get a heads up to share with yourself and any others. The message boards will incur a mandatory upgrade that will create some downtime, starting at 9pm PT, tonight. I’m not sure how long the upgrade takes, but I believe things should be up and running again in the morning if not much sooner.
Thanks, XXXXXXXXX
Of course this is in regards to the old message board
Nothing to see here, carry on

Doing your own sprinkler repair will save some serious coin in the long run and is a never ending process. I can everything except the damn control valves which still baffle me. Luckily I have a guy who does it pretty cheap. He repaired the flooding issue in our backyard storm drains which involved digging up about a 7 foot section of it because a tree root had entered into the pipe and literally grown to just about the size of the pipe. Took him a couple of days and only charged $500.00 to do it. I would have paid that not to have to dig out the pipe let alone put in the new pipe and a new clean out valve.

For me it's kind of a matter of how much I need to dig to get to something and what level of shit I'll need to buy from Lowes. The irrigation guys we use are pretty damn cheap, will replace most nozzles and things, even if they need to dig a bit, for about 15 bucks. But if it's just a matter of replacing a threaded pipe with some tape I'll just do it myself. For larger leaks I normally just get them to deal with it as again they are fairly cheap. Only expensive bit is if you send them on a goose chase and they don't see exactly what they need to dig towards and the cost kicks over to hourly. For us we have a ton of little drip nozzles and because they bake in the sun you often need to replace them simply because the nipples going to the line will dry out and break off. Those are super easy to deal with for about 3 dollars in supplies.
