I’ve never been to Greensboro, so I don’t have an opinion on that. One thing I do know, if your fiancee can make more money in Raleigh than in Cali...thats a good thing. I hope it all works out. Are you getting wet over there today No, and even though the weather in general is more unpredictable here (sub-tropical climate) this is weird. There were alerts and warnings the last two days about heavy rain/wind. I did a bunch of work on my property to prep...then I wake up this morning and the weather report is 0% chance of rain. Getting some decent wind but nothing like they were warning about...maybe 20-30mph at most. There are coastal evacuee’s being housed here though, as I hear Charleston is getting hit pretty hard.

JB was also shocked at how little unemployment pays out. And at least out here they basically demand that you apply to multiple things a day and accept the first thing you get. So once you are at a certain level in your career it kind of fucks you into either applying to a bunch of stuff that is well under you or foregoing that payment all together. Yeah I could go get a paralegal job that pays $10k less a year but I am trying to obviously avoid that. I got some severance pay as well so that covers the next couple of weeks. Takes a bit of the pressure off. Good luck on the situation, and hopefully like you say the severance package can cover you. At least the paralegal stuff may be an ok stop gap if needed. In JBs case I'm more worried it would be like a 60k cut for her if she settles on trash, as even more comparable positions will be decent pay cuts given the economy out here.

Yeah. It's known as the research triangle given the colleges in the area. North Carolina University, Duke. Durham is a smaller city that I guess used to be pretty run down but it is rapidly gentrifying and they've really built up the downtown into a nice little hangout. Most of my coworkers live in that direction to avoid the cost and city issues of Raleigh itself. We're looking at that area as I have an office out there and my current project is based there. Need to talk to mmt boss about my general position and long term what the hell he wants our group to be doing (we are going through a acquisition that has been a mess, i got poached to help the mothership on a single program and now have no idea what I go back to when this is done). In the meantime, my fiance has finally been let go from her job in California she has kept this whole time. And the job market in Raleigh is actually way stronger for our skillset than Arizona. She already found something that would potentially pay her more than she made in California. So for us the specific area makes sense. Anecdotally I heard from someone that lived in Greensboro and hated it. 2 hours from the beach is better than the 5 or so we are now. But it still largely means a hotel room. I’ve never been to Greensboro, so I don’t have an opinion on that. One thing I do know, if your fiancee can make more money in Raleigh than in Cali...thats a good thing. I hope it all works out. Agreed. Before I was more hesitant as I felt my situation would be more strained and I wasn't positive what she'd make. But the top end of this job she's applying for is more than I'm making now. So at that point fuck it, she can be the bread winner and I'm fine asking my boss for his plans for me / if he needs good people at our site in Raleigh that's coming into the fold due to an aquisition.

Because, you know, then I guess she'd be a welfare queen that's not trying to better herself. And they have stipulations that you need to show you are reaching out to cimpanies daily. So the odds are she'd get an offer and then you're hosed.

It's hard just looking for a job let alone having to answer to those clerks at the unemploment office. They're overpaid govt losers that look down at you

You might want to check daily with the hotels located in Yellowstone. They have a few room cancelations daily because people can't get there or they change their plans. When we went we stayed four of the sevens nights we were there in the park with no room reservations. Some of the hotels especially at old faithful are spectacular

marbs - we will be covered on the repair cause now moisture is prevalent to our living room and hallway. So now they will remove the engineered hardwood and try to replace, however it's such an old flooring that it might be cheaper to replace with this porcelain brick that my wife likes.
Anyway 2 dehumidifiers have been going since last night. demolition floor guys there today. It's all kinds of crazy! Will update you all when I can relax finally!

Our problem was the actual issue area (tile around the bath tub) didnt get torn up for the dry out so it wasn't covered for the repair. And at this point all the construction guys have been such a mess to work with around the insurance guys we are just telling them to fucking invoice us for their repairs, they better keep it at or roughly around our deductible as it really wasnt a ton of work and we'll be dealing with the actually repairs later out of pocket. I've never seen a company so unresponsive when asking for an invoice. Its crazy.

Got it served to me good in two locations. the second time, with a chocolate fudge ripple running through the huckleberry. worth an 8 mile hike. Hope Danville will find some before he heads back to 680ville. at least stop by and say 'hi' to Yogi bear. I did.

man nothing like having drying fans and dehumidifiers going all on in your house.
I laugh at the 30 dollar extra that AAA gave us for the electric bill. Based on the future estimate it might 222 next billing cycle. So AAA you will probably need to give about 100+ more dollars for that!
Deconstruction should begin today. How quaint!

France knocks USA out of World Basketball Ch. - first American loss in an official tournament in 13 years (95-101 against Greece in Mundobasket 2006), and the second quarterfinal exist (after the Indianapolis 2002 debacle).
Fuck Gregg Popovich.

So in the ATT world, I get an email bill for 0.00 dollars.
hmm. so if I cancelled the account. Why are sending me a billing notice for zero dollars when the account has been closed!
(yes I realize this could be the finalized part since we got the refunded 20.00 on mc gift card).
anyway. the deconstruction crew should finish up the kitchen today and take the fans and dehumidifiers that they got going.
Man our place is all tore up on the floor! (as expected).
