Spent the day with my wife at the Battle of Camden Revolutionary War museum/battlefield in Camden, SC today. Very impressive...hallowed ground for sure. America lost that battle, but the loss made them change strategy and it was all down hill for the Brits and their loyalists after that. Finished the day at Rodneys BBQ with ribs and cold beer. No crowd at either place...this retirement thing is okay. Francis Marion memorial next week  |

When it rains it pours. I now have 2 job offers on the table on 2 interviews.
The first one I verbally accepted and they sent a written confirmation for me to sign and it says only 1 week a year vacation. WTF?
Second one is for a new firm. Same money but 2 weeks vacation.

Sometimes they say “one week” as that is all the actual time off you earn...but if its a good place to work they’ll find a way to get you the needed time off. My Nephew bought a home on the lake so we moved a bunch of furniture from Dublin to the lake house today. Beautiful home 4 bd 3 bth. And air conditioning, awesome airconditioning. It's a weekend getaway for him and the wife. The next project later next month is picking up a houseboat in storage at Berryessa and moving it up there. My Uncle donated it them so I could float on the lake enjoying a few cocktails at the same time while they're water skiing. Life is good |

I mentioned off hand in the interview that we had a vacation scheduled for the first week of December and he immediately said he would have no problem with me still taking a few days off that week. |

The lot I wanted would've required a 4000+ sq. ft. house to be built to meet the HOA bullshit. WTF am I going to do with 4000+ sq. ft.? I certainly wouldn't have time to play golf that's for damn sure! |
