It works great. In the last two nights I’ve watched four different games...Rangers, Caps, Columbus and San Jose...all on their regional sports channel. Only downside is its on Direct TV...which was way better before ATT got involved. Still the best sports programming though. I would think the only black out issue you would have is for Yotes games. Center Ice is free on Direct TV for the first week / ten days. They'll black it out soon unless you buy it I’m not watching on Center Ice...its called the “regional sports pack” and I think its $10 a month. I watched the game tonight on the Sharks home network, CSN.

I watched the game tonight on the Sharks home network, CSN. The regional sports pack is the stations that show the local home games. Center Ice picks up that feed so when the free preview is done the games will be blacked out on those channels. Trust me I had Direct TV the last 24 years and this is the norm

I’ve been getting similar, but more urgent messages for the last day. They have warned us power could be out as long as seven days. Since this seems to be the new norm for PG&E, I finally broke down and bought a generator yesterday. What a cluster from PG&E and the CPUC.

PG&E is anticipating widespread, strong and dry winds this week. Starting Wednesday, they are considering turning off power for safety to parts of California, including the Bay Area. So here are a few things you can do to help get through a power shutdown: • If you come home and everything is dark and nothing works, then yes, you are experiencing a power shutdown. Remain calm. Use your cell phone light to search frantically for the one flashlight you think you have in the house. It will be dead of course. Search for batteries. You will need four but only find three. • Wish you had charged your cell phone. Plug your phone into the charger but then say to yourself, “duh the power is out.” • Charge up those portable phone chargers tonight. However, keep in mind, should your teen’s phone run out of battery it could be a good thing. Watching them go through Tik-Tok or Instagram withdrawals could be good entertainment. Heck, it could even put them dangerously close to having to read a book by flashlight or doing something creative. • Please do not call 911 and ask when the power will come back on. Our dispatchers are very good but they cannot see into the future. They will tell you they do not know and then disconnect so they can answer the other hundred calls from people asking about the power being out. • Keep your freezer and refrigerator doors closed to keep food from spoiling. If you have teenagers this may be difficult so speak loudly but slowly to them so they understand. You may need to hang a sign on the doors as well. Use big letters. • Use food supplies that do not require refrigeration. We think potato chips, Twinkies, Oreos, and peanut butter might be a good start! Okay, maybe throw an apple or an avocado in there, too. • You will need a plan to keep medicines refrigerated or power-dependent medical devices working. • PG&E suggests you turn off or disconnect appliances, equipment or electronics. Power may return with momentary “surges” or “spikes” that may cause damage. • DO NOT use generators, camp stoves, or charcoal grills indoors. Carbon monoxide fumes can be deadly. Moreover, never use a gas stove top or oven to heat your home. Do what your mom used to tell you to do: Put on a sweater. • Check on your neighbors. Even the one whose dog barks all night. And the other one who always parks in front of your house. Pleasanton Police Department

Pleasanton Police Department Weird...I live in the country on six acres in the “backwards redneck” Deep South and our power lines are under ground...they never turn the power off when it gets windy 🤔 I personally think PGE is giving y’all the finger and making themselves so important that the State ultimately makes them exempt from lawsuits.

I may or may not have just locked myself out of my childhood home and in the garage wearing nothing but a pair of holey bannana slug skivies... The good news - that one window that you leave easy to break into for moments like this is the only one in the house my mom hasn't replaced. The bad news, she did put padlocks on all gates and all the back yard windows are super fucking solid. Yes. Yes I did just have to hop a fence and jimmy a window back into my own home while in my boxers. Fuck I'm getting too old for this shit. And I owe my mom a new screen.

Drove by the tree of note (at least the street, I can no longer distinguish the exact tree outside od 1 in maybe 5).

Hey Fug, you were right about my regional sports channels turning off once NHL Center Ice started on DTV. Good news though, I called the customer support folks and told them the sales pitch to sign me up was false. They then transferred me to people that actually spoke English in Texas. A supervisor there pulled up the call recording of my signing up and agreed with me...so they gave me Center Ice free for the length of my sign up agreement...two years

Rumor has it if you complain to ATT&T now about your Direct TV account they will actually let you talk to someone that knows what they're doing. Maybe they finally woke up and let the Direct TV people handle their own business now.

Once I got to that guy in Texas my issue was solved in less than a day. He also mentioned what a mess ATT is, so I think you’re right, he was an actual Direct TV guy.
