via NHL.com,
Tuukka Rask was placed on injured reserve by the Boston Bruins on Thursday
The goalie left Boston's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday because of a concussion. The injury came when he was elbowed in the head by Blue Jackets forward Emil Bemstrom, who was skating by the crease and was cross-checked into Rask by Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo.
"He's concussed. He got elbowed in the head," coach Bruce Cassidy said after the 3-0 loss.
Bemstrom said the contact was accidental.
"It's not my purpose for that at all," Bemstrom said. "I tried to come back and backcheck. I got a little cross-check in my side and that probably turned my skate a little bit. It wasn't on purpose, of course."

from Mike Chambers of the Denver Post,
The Dallas Stars’ top forwards are cheaters, Avalanche coach Jared Bednar said.
“They’ve got veteran centermen in (Joe) Pavelski, (Jamie) Benn, (Tyler) Seguin and they cheat. They cheat on the faceoffs,” Bednar said Wednesday, the day after Dallas used a questionable faceoff to beat the Avs 3-2 in overtime at the Pepsi Center.
To be fair, Bednar insinuated that all NHL teams, including his, try to push the rules to win faceoffs.
“They’re doing a better job of cheating on it than we are,” Bednar said. “We don’t feel like the linesmen we’re doing a good enough job (Tuesday), sort of holding (the respective teams) accountable to make it a level playing field on the faceoffs.”

Didn't see the Deboer hiring coming. I'm sure he didn't want to go to Vegas, but with the uncertainty of coaching jobs in the NHL, he had to jump on what came to him. I feel like Zack Kassian is the type of player the sharks need. A big body that can help Kane out in the physicality department. I wonder what it would take to get him to SJ.(Hes a UFA after this season) I understand the desire for a Kassian type player but IMO the Sharks need a defender that can actually play defense or a goal tender that can stop a puck...no other trades matter at this point. Yes that is true... Only hurdle is: unless some people start waiving there NTC/NMC the only option will be Dillon to move, and I feel that would be a big loss. There is not much to move up front either in trade for a D-man.

But there are some of them that have a Modified NMC, and on July1st of every year they have to submit 3 teams they would accept a trade too. I know Burns has this type, but haven't check to see who else does specifically.

But something needs to budge, just the logistics are fucked lol. At this point in the season, with 7 NHL d-men (arguably) move Burns back up to forward and roll the other 6. Might throw some interest back into the season.

Bruins placed Backes on waivers to send him to the AHL.
Obviously comparing a forward to a goalie isn’t apples to apples but why can’t this happen to Jones?

"I'm not surprised to the honest...player safety my ass. This is literally an elbow to the face to a guy that didn't have the puck.
"I see him coming, I brace for a hit, it was a late hit, I never had the puck and he puts an elbow to my face and they're not going to do anything about it. Now I’ve got to take matters into my own hands. Next time this happens and I get to swing my stick across his forehead and I shouldn’t get suspended then."
- Mathieu Perreault of the Winnipeg Jets on no action from Player Safety on an elbow from Jake Vitranen.

Bruins put David Backes on waivers today, Go for it Dougie he's ONLY 35 & he can play with PM & JT , Get Chara as well & we can call it the Grandpa Line In all seriousness if the Bruins can cut Backes at 6 million, Why can't you admit to your failure & CUT Jones..

I could be wrong but... If he gets waived, and un-claimed, doesn't he still count against the Cap? Granted last night wasn't his fault, he definitely needs a change a scenery. DW needs to have a long awkward conversation with some of the players, Jones being one. I'd like to see a package deal with him towards MTL who should be looking to unload Price (you know he's unhappy about the situation) the way their season is going. And on another note... Why haven't we seen Berg or Yurt for a 1-2 call up? Where they a flash in pan and now stinking it up on the Cuda?

Barracuda is so bad it's obvious Bergmann or Yurtaikin aren't doing well there either.

So I finally ran a Situation Room full analysis, and guess what? The Sharks are getting hosed this season to some indescribable proportions:
- Their own challenges have gone 1-3
- The challenges of their opponents have gone 4-0 in opponents favor
- The video reviews and the SR challenges have gone 1-10 against them
So in total the Sharks are 2-17, or -15 by the SR.
I wonder if Doug Wilson pissed in the coffeemaker there last summer...

The Athletic with their poll of the players with question like best player, game 7 SCF goalie and more.
I will concentrate on this...
Who is the dirtiest player in the league?
Now we come to the first question players were a little hesitant to answer. Some took issue with the concept of dirty players altogether.
“Nobody’s dirty,” a Pacific Division player said. “I know guys who are cheap. There are a lot of rats in the league. (Matthew) Tkachuk’s a rat. Brad Marchand’s a rat. But I wouldn’t call them dirty.”
Others disagreed and had lots to say about Marchand, in particular. Let’s go with a sampling from all four divisions.
“Marchand can do some shady shit.” — a Pacific Division player.
“Let’s go with Brad Marchand. He’s a little prick.” — a Metro Division player.
“It’s disgusting what the league lets Marchand get away with. He’s got no respect for anybody. Makes me sick.” — a Central Division player.
more ($$$) and 9 more categories...

This is an incredible season in Columbus. CBJ have 254 man games lost to injury, the most in the league by a long shot.
Currently 5 of the top 9 teams in the league are in the Metro. Murderers row!CBJ are currently 8th. Top team in Pacific currently sits at number 11.
CBJ pay their top three tenders just under$3 million total yet are 3rd in save percentage and 2nd 5v5. (Korpi- named to ASG but on IR since beginning of January!)
Finally, and perhaps most unbelievable, CBJ have 2 regulation losses in the last 21 games and those two regulation losses have been to #26 SJ

This seems to be the theme most nights. When the Sharks don't beat themselves (i.e. Washington game) they are not getting the calls. Some sort of purgatory for the Vegas series last year. Apparently It was a full year ban lmao
