I've been engaged for 18 months now. No complaints. May go another 18. Haha. Meanwhile our postponement has been longer than the initial engagement. My Cousin was supposed to get married last March but they had to reschedule it to last weekend. So that date got cancelled two weeks ago because of the Rona and now she's getting married in March of next year. Supposedly

Now what the hell could 'unfit to participate in practice' mean? Did Pasternak just sit around and drink Czech beer while sheltering after the season stopped? That's OUR job, Damnit.

Hockey star Jeremy Roenick sued NBC Sports for wrongful termination on Friday, claiming the network discriminated against him as a straight man after he made off-color remarks on a Barstool Sports podcast.
Roenick also alleges that the network retaliated against him because he was an outspoken supporter of President Trump in 2016.
Roenick was let go after joking on the âSpittinâ Chicletsâ podcast about having a threesome with his wife and Kathryn Tappen, a coworker, in a discussion about a vacation in Portugal.
âIâm swimming with my wife and Kathryn, and theyâve got their bikinis on, and they look fâinâ smokinâ,â he said on the podcast in December. âAss and boobs everywhere. Itâs great.â
Roenick was quickly suspended. He issued an apology, and his supervisor, Sam Flood, subsequently informed him that he was fired.
Roenick also states that he asked Flood for permission to speak at the Republican National Convention in 2016. According to the suit, Flood responded: âIâm not saying what you can do. You know who you work for. You work for NBC. That would not look good on your NBC record.â
The hockey star alleges that Flood subsequently made derogatory remarks about Trump to Roenick, such as âyour boy is messing up this country.â Roenick alleges that his support for Trump was one of the reasons leading to his firing.
The lawsuit, filed in New York Supreme Court, also accuses NBC of violating the state law against discrimination based on gender and sexual orientation.
The suit points to controversy over a promotional video involving NBC figure skating commentators Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir, which involved some vulgar language and an insinuation of an affair. The suit notes that neither Weir nor Lipinski were suspended or terminated.
Roenick said that he had also told Flood that Weir used âcolorful commentaryâ about skatersâ body parts during the 2018 Olympics. Flood allegedly responded that Weir âis gay and can say whatever.â
The suit also accuses NBC of breaching Roenickâs contract by firing him without good cause, and by failing to give him a reasonable opportunity to correct the violation.

Sheng Peng started his own website eh? I think i remember him from FTF, one of the few decent writers there. Its amazing how lacking the sharks coverage is, has been getting thinner and thinner for years Yeah he worked for FTF. Should be interesting how he handles this website. I noticed a few other teams are also covered by their own websites. It might be governed by someone looking to cover what the NHL doesn't. I also noticed it's a subscription website $29.99 a year Sheng Peng is the editor-in-chief of San Jose Hockey Now. He previously covered the Sharks for Fear the Fin. A member of the Professional Hockey Writers Association, Sheng has voted on the last three NHL Awards. His work has also appeared at NBC News, The Hockey News, and VICE Sports.

WTF
NEW YORK (AP) -- New York Rangers forward Brendan Lemieux has been suspended by the NHL for the first two games of the team's preliminary-round series against Carolina because of an illegal check that injured Colorado forward Joonas Donskoi in March.
The league's department of player safety announced the suspension Monday, four months after holding a hearing with Lemieux. The NHL waited until return to play guidelines were in place before making a ruling.
The suspension means Lemieux will miss the first two games of the Rangers' best-of-five series against Carolina, which opens in Toronto on Aug. 1. He will be eligible to play in New York's exhibition game against the New York Islanders on July 29.
Lemieux was suspended for a late and blindside hit on Donskoi in the final minutes of regulation of the Rangers 3-2 overtime loss at Colorado on March 11. Donskoi entered the Rangers zone and cut into the middle, where he got off a shot on net before being struck from the side by Lemieux.
Replays showed Lemieux led with his shoulder and caught Donskoi on the left side of the head, while the player was looking forward. Donskoi did not return due to a head injury, and would have likely missed several games had the season not been paused a day later because of the pandemic.
Lemieux received a two-minute penalty for interference.

Should be fun, 8 play in series and an 8-team round robin tournament. This looks like 10 separate series...which eight are the âplay inâ ones? The top four teams in each conference play each other once, that's DAL, VGK, STL, COL, BOS, WAS, PHI, and TBL. Best record out of those games gets top seed. The play in series (best-of-5) are PHX-NSH, CAL-WIN, EDM-CHI, VAN-MIN, TOR-CBJ, NYR-CAR, NYI-FLA, and PIT-MON. The winners of the play-in series play the top four teams in the playoffs, which just progresses as it did before the divisional format. Also remember that one of the losers in the play in series will end up winning a lottery for the first overall pick in the draft.
