The Tampa Bay Lightening are the first team eliminated from the playoffs. What a time to be alive.

As crazy an upset as this is, imagine it happening in other sports. It just doesn't.
Doesn't take away from how shocking and incredible this is for the Blue Jackets but you just don't see this happen in other playoffs, only the NHL it seems.

And in other news, my bracket, and 99% of other people's, is totally screwed.

Isles sweeping the Pens is awesome.
Side note, G4 of their series back in 2013 was probably the most entertaining hockey game I've watched. One of those I wish I would've been there to see in person.

This is why hockey playoff hockey is compelling. This rarely happens in basketball. The warriors did it to Dallas years ago but very rare. Baseball also happens but rare.

It's on the coaches. 4-3 might be on players, whatever. 4-0 is always on coaches.

so what's the biggest upset?
Bolt - get swept being the regular season point leader.
Pens - get swept with crysby.
Sharks - getting reversed swept by L.A.
Sharks - getting semi swept by Vegas and losing to Vegas yet again in a playoff series.

For me the single most painful experience was attending the abomination that was the reverse sweep disgrace at the hands of the kings. That moment remains the lowest of the low points and DW survived that as did most of the top players.

Healthy hockey diversion: I was looking up Barracuda attendance this season and stumbled into an interesting Hockey Attendance stats website. Covers the NHL and all other notable leagues around the world. But no stats compiled for the 2018-19 seasons thus far. sigmagfx.com/hockey/home In the 2017-18 season, SJ Barracuda had 4,098 average home attendance, AHL average is 5,897. Interesting, one of the AHLs highest average home attendance is in San Diego, 9,305. Lots of attendance slicing/dicing stats and charts, you can get lost in there when you have the time. Cjelli types will appreciate the layout. ...and FU Martin Jones!!

Does anyone know why The Cuda started on the road and not home? Because the AHL 1st round is 2A + 3H best of 5 scheme.

The Flames are in trouble. Lanche win 3-2 MacKinnon is making his case for best player in the league. Dude is flying all over the ice. He is noticeably the best player out there shift after shift.
