I finally got my census in the mail today. First time I've gotten any mail here since Tuesday. And it's not just me, the neighbor was also bitching about that yesterday

I got three questions in when they asked if we own or rent and that was it for me. That type of personal stuff is none of their business. I assume they went on to ask about race, income, etc so I’m glad I stopped early. Seriously? This is how the government doles out federal dollars and also sets reps. You are short changing the state of SC by not filling it out. I believe some of the info can also be left blank, but at least tell them how many adults are on the property. Yes, seriously. The Constitution is very clear that the 10 year census is to count people to determine house of representative districts. Why does my race, or whether I own my home matter for that equation? Any time we allow the government, especially the feds, to take more than their entitled to, we give up a portion of our constitutionally guaranteed liberty. For example, the Patriot Act. Also, I agree with you. I’m willing to tell them how many people live here...which was the second question, and I answered that.

Hmm, I noticed he had a donut in his hand. That guy sounds just like most of my neighbors My boys and I took the dog and went to a park today and threw a baseball around for about an hour. Felt great to get out.

I'm fine with people chosing to not answer the detail, but at least get the head count in there so you don't short change your local representation at the federal level.

Unfortunately, the whole response gets voided if you don’t answer every question. To me, that confirms that the feds aren’t as concerned with counting people to determine House of Representative district representation, like the Constitution calls for, but more interested in the other stuff. At the end I got a message saying a census worker would be coming to my house...can’t wait I hope you’re doing well and staying safe.

Good for you for taking the kids. Docked in Richmond. Maintained by volunteers. Not top notch condition but more than half of it still available for self-guided tours. We then went to a WWII museum a couple of miles away from it.
