Japanese whiskeys, especially single batch whiskey, are quite expensive. The Suntory Toki is a blended whisky which is good from the standpoint of consistency from bottle to bottle but that blending can eliminate some of the more interesting and funkier notes from individual barrels. Blending tends to produce a smoother whisky, but I prefer the funkier single batch stuff, even though it’s considerably more expensive. I also don’t miss state run liquor stores. The employees were fine but the selection was poor and the prices miserable. TRO

You boys need to grab untapped. It is also good when picking new brew to avoid crap. Untapped. Do it. Yea, I thought so. A beer tasting App for iPhone or Android. Googled it and there's a ton. TapHunter, Untapped, BeerAdvocate.. if John96 could get his data into one of these Apps, the phone just gets that much more valuable.. Imagine taking a pic of a new beer you're enjoying, GPS catalogs when and where u were for all time. Man, 21st century is amazing. Back in the day we'd just drink Pabst Blue Ribbon and pass out. A beer diary was unheard of. I like untapped. Gives you badges for checking in with different types of beer. Or for drinking at home these days. Makes you feel patriotic.

I also have fucked taxes and found suntori for around 38. Was surprised as I thought Japanese stuff was pricey. It's pretty good! Just shelves of hooch. I got 190 proof everclear for 17 dollars, so that's nice. The suntori is very clean like you said. Reminds me almost of a neat scotch.

That sucks. I attended that race every year. They’re racing here in SC at Darlington next weekend. I used to go to the race too. Funny that I never ran into you there With the crowd being 100k or more some years its pretty hard to see folks...especially when you’ve never met before The last several years I was in the private seating area by turn 11 due to my job.

Started out on a spreadsheet with my brother and future sister-in-law. Transferred it when they couldn’t keep up with kids and stuff. I couldn’t do the spreadsheet, just put it in a word file and listed them by how much I liked them 1-10. So it is bare bones right now but back in the day we had it sortable by country, type, tasting notes, it was legit. Glad we started it, raised my ability to appreciate and understand beer, helped me realize which beers I prefer to which ones I don’t. I posted it a ways back in the booze thread but fair warning it is quite the long scroll. You boys need to grab untapped. It is also good when picking new brew to avoid crap. Untapped. Do it. Untapped is good. I like the Digital Pour app also.

Once the Canadian campers figured out I had a good supply of quality Kentucky Bourbon they were all over me. We spent many nights smoking cigars and drinking together and the one complaint they all had was the lack of good imported alcohol and the price. We wiped out all my bourbon and red wine. I had to stop in Vancouver, Wa to stock up for the trip home. Great times.

They opened Collins lake on Monday, so the wife and I went up on Thursday eve and left Saturday morn. The wife's cousin has permanent site there, caught four nice trout, it was great getting away and not worrying about anything but watching my bobber go up and down and enjoying the sunshine.

There was at least 20 or more cars waiting to get in and more cars driving in. Very mixed bag of boaters on Friday as it was now open for water skiing but there were also a lot of fishing boats out there also. Kinda hard to fish when boats are going all over the place with skiers and kids tubing but it was way better then being stuck in the house.

I was talking to my daughter yesterday about flying to visit her in July and she told me about new restrictions flying into Texas on Southwest Airlines. I may have to rethink my visit
Anyone traveling through/from
California (Burbank, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Oakland, Ontario, Orange County, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, and San Jose) Connect]]]]icut (Hartford) Georgia (Atlanta) Illinois (Chicago - Midway) Michigan (Detroit and Grand Rapids) New Jersey New York (Albany, Buffalo/Niagara, Long Island/Islip, New York - LaGuardia, and Rochester) Washington (Seattle/Tacoma and Spokane)
to any of our Texas destinations will be required to self-quarantine for 14 days and complete this form from the Texas Department of Public Safety upon arrival. Travelers may complete the form electronically and show their confirmation email, along with a valid driver's license/ID card or passport, to a DPS Trooper upon disembarking the plane. This is effective March 28 until further notification is received from the Governor of Texas’ website.

I possibly might have a convention to go to in July (wife doesn't want me to go) and it's in Forth Worth. They haven't cancelled it yet but it would be a majority of college kids etc. I'm about 95% not going, but funny they haven't cancelled it yet. And a lot for west coasters would fly Southwest. So based on your those terms, I don't think anyone from the west coast would go!
