I don't see a point in going past Nevada. Parts of New Mexico are beautiful, Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Montana........East of that not so much. Add Wyoming and Yellowstone Park to that list

I don't see a point in going past Nevada. I thought you were moving to Ohio? I meant, traveling eastwards from SC.
But family is a different matter altogether.

So today a recruiter offered me a position with TikTok.
Replied him I will not work for or with it, and it's a shame he does.

I think he's in construction. Superintendent? There's no way you could ever pay me enough to be a super. I have taken over jobs when the company's job foreman went on to his next job, but even that killed me. I enjoy my weekends off, and when its time to go home I don't want to worry about the job and what surprises it will bring. It's just easier for me to do it, rather than have to explain somebody else how to do it. If that makes sense, And with today's construction workforce having a lot hispanics who sometimes pretend not to understand what your telling them, it gets pretty aggravating.

Those and the blue ridge are awesome. There's a solid devils backbone road out there around Asheville.

Are you talking about the “Tail of the Dragon” road? It’s advertised as “the most exciting 11 miles of road in America.” Not sure about that...but if you like windy/hilly roads its pretty impressive. The road, like most country roads in the South, is in good shape also. The Blue Ridge Parkway is also a nice drive in places.

I was supposed to spend a long weekend in Asheville in April but we cancelled due to the COVID. I was really looking forward to cutting the Giulia loose on that road (it is part of the blue ridge pkwy as far as I'm aware). One thing that's nice up here is just outside of the city there are tons of back roads that are decently windy and a tad hilly. It really beats the hell out of Arizona where everything is an endless grid. I could have bought a kia out there, may as well as theres rarely a stretch of road worth a nicer car.

Funny...I was just saying that to my wife. We took a drive (about 60 miles each way) to the Battle of Rivers Bridge Civil War historic site today and walked the battlefield. During the drive we were saying what a pleasure it is to drive the country/backroads here. They’re well maintained, rolling hills, everything’s green...and best of all, not much traffic We went a different route home and stumbled on a small town black church’s “fish fry fundraiser.” We got some fish, shrimp and hush puppies for the drive home...fantastic day.

The Amish country near Lancaster County, just East of Gettysburg, is also worth seeing. A fresh Shoofly pie from an Amish farmers market is one of my favorite things The Battle of Rivers Bridge is/was a much smaller event then Gettysburg but still worth seeing. The breastworks and cannon emplacements are still there. Most of the union soldiers who died there were from Wisconsin...that’s a long walk to fight in a swamp in South Carolina. Truly a tough bunch

Yeah. If you can find the old highways and major roads (pre interstate) it's a really fun drive. I've done a couple 2 hour or so loops and had a blast. See some interesting old tows, tons of little farms and rolling green pastures.
