Although EK65 is not was he once was, I still wonder why we don’t tailor the Team to his style of Play? I’m Ott he carried that team for Years. I still think he has the potential to be great again, I just wonder if the Sharks style of Play prohibits this?!

I think it is either this (at least get someone to compliment him as a pairing cause pickles is not it), or blowup the team and commit to the rebuild. The rebuild wont get more season tickets though and that was a concern at the GM meeting.

from Michael Russo of The Athletic,
The ugly Kirill Kaprizov contract negotiations took another turn Monday night when the Daily Faceoff reported that the Minnesota Wild’s unsigned restricted free agent has a tentative agreement in place with CSKA Moscow on a one-year deal worth at least $10 million to begin Sept. 1 should a new contract not materialize with the Wild.
The Athletic has reported since mid-June that Kaprizov’s former KHL team would welcome him back with open arms if he can’t reach a deal with Minnesota, but the report tosses a date and an “8-figure” price tag on something Kaprizov’s camp has been threatening the Wild with all offseason.
The Wild, which began contract talks with Kaprizov’s agent Paul Theofanous in March, have long had offers on the table for seven years and eight years in the $9 million range, sources continue to say. That would be by far the richest annual contract in franchise history for the 2021 Calder Trophy winner.
Wild general manager Bill Guerin has indicated for a month that he’s willing to compromise by signing Kaprizov to a mid-range deal believed to be five or six years. However, Guerin still prefers not to sign Kaprizov to three or fewer years because the star forward can become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2024.

Funny how you mentioned the Seals Hawks . I can’t remember the year( maybe 1970-71) my first ever hockey game was Seals and Hawks at the Coliseum. After that game I was hooked on hockey. I became a NY Islanders fan in 75 , the Seals left for Cleveland around that time. Had Sharks season tickets( started day 1 at the Cow Palace) gave them up around the Sharks 20th anniversary year, they priced me out of the arena. Time fly’s memories

Doug Wilson apparently is turning a blind eye to the Sharks locker room problems. Should he be fired for this? What do you think should happen
from Kevin Kurz of The Athletic,
Several key players informed team brass that if Kane was going to be a part of the Sharks going forward, they didn’t want to be. That’s how bad it got, and how complicated this situation has become.
“Guys were going into Doug’s office all year long,” according to one source, “saying Kane had to go. … All Doug would say is, ‘All teams have locker-room issues,’ which just isn’t true. Not the teams that win, anyway.”
“The Sharks ignored everything,” said an NHL agent who represents at least one player on the team. “Team turned a blind eye.”
The NHL is investigating Kane, who has been accused by his wife of gambling on NHL games. But the Sharks’ displeasure with Kane stemmed from a general disrespect for team rules, including routinely being late for games and practices, not adhering to the dress code and having poor practice habits. At one point late in the season, according to a source, Kane nearly came to blows with assistant coach Rocky Thompson in a meeting after arguing where he was supposed to be positioned on the power play. Several sources indicated there was a general frustration among the team that Kane was permitted to get away with whatever he wanted, with no repercussions.

Slow, stupid, not just lacking the right skill defensively but appallingly poor in judgement, and far from “carrying” the Senators, they became a losing team precisely because they gave him so much time with the puck. It led to him racking up points on his own balance sheet but this actually hurt the team overall. Sharks (and fans like me) were foolish to desire and acquire him, but it is totally on Wilson to be so stupid that he actually signed him for 8 yeas after seeing what the pig looked like out of its poke that first season.
