I haven’t watched any games in preseason, just highlights. 2 takeaways . 1 Eklund is going to be a Stud as long as we don’t rush him! 2 It’s nice watching a game/highlight and not seing Jones flop around like a fish out of water! No one has been able to see much other than a radio broad cast (for whatever that is worth). Heck last night the only feed I could find was for the Knights. Great way to hype up a season that probably going to lose more than win. I think the first 12 or is it 15? games before players need to be assigned up or down should dictate whether Eklund stays. If its going to be an absolute shit-show I would say shield him from that and go tear it up on the Cuda. Trying not to get to excited about Hill, he has only played like 20ish nhl games but he looked real real good last night (I know it was just the preseason) and I have been fooled by this team before lol. |

That rule is in place because for players that young (I think under 20) arent eligible for the AHL. Not sure though. |

I went to the CBJ game last night against the Penguins.
The Penguins were sitting Crosby, Malkin and Guentzel. The Jackets missed only Werenski.
The Penguins seemed to coast through two and a half periods, and by then it was 3-1 CBJ. Then Pittsburgh sort of stepped up a bit, and the Jackets were lucky to escape into OT 3-3. In the OT they got a stupid TMM penalty and lost to a PPG.
The team is not exciting. That's all.
Oh. Gus Nyquist was playing and even had an assist. On the other hand, the top line Laine-Texier-Voracek didn't do much. Oh, Voracek took two penalties and caused the TMM.

Feel like CBJ won’t be much further ahead of ARI and BUF this season but they seem to outplay their ability often enough. |

Could be the next Goodrow? Goes down to the minors for a season or two after being on the big club and re-emerged as a legit NHLer. Hopefully he improves more like he did last year. |

After ya'll explained the ahl/junior situation he is in, him staying with the big club makes the most sense. I like Weatherby a lot too, not as much skill but a big boy that can up the physicality and post up points. I think we will get a better idea of how the season will go in the first few reg season games because the rosters have been so mixed up for pre season. |
