Minnesota Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov has not returned to North America amongst Russian reports that he is wanted for buying a fake Russian Military ID in 2017 to avoid mandatory service, per Michael Russo. from Michael Russo of The Athletic, The Minnesota Wild and the NHL were trying to get a handle on a developing situation Wednesday after multiple media reports surfaced out of Russia that Wild star Kirill Kaprizov is wanted in his native country for allegedly buying a falsified military ID card in 2017, when he was playing for Salavat Yulaev Ufa. Wild general manager Bill Guerin told The Athletic that Kaprizov is still in Russia, contrary to reports that he had fled for the United States. “We’re trying to find out as much as we can, but we’re not worried too much about it,” Guerin said. “I’ve talked to (Kaprizov’s agent) Paul (Theofanous). We’re not going to push the panic button or anything like that. We’re just trying to gather information right now and find out if this is even credible.” This situation comes days after Philadelphia Flyers goaltending prospect Ivan Fedotov was arrested and taken to a military naval camp for allegedly evading mandatory military service.... Kaprizov’s father, Oleg, denied that his son bought a military ID to Sport-Express and said Kaprizov is a student of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA). It is common for Russian professional athletes to study from afar as a means of delaying their military obligations. However, Kaprizov’s exemption expired June 30, according to one source familiar with the situation. If that’s true, regardless of the accusation that he bought a military ID five years ago, Kaprizov could be required to fulfill his military obligations. In Russia, men must serve in the military for one year between the ages of 18 and 27.

"Geez, half the time, you're texting the guy sitting right at the table next to you," Yzerman said. "You can do that from anywhere. Whether we're doing it remotely or live, I think it has no bearing. You're going to do what you're going to do regardless. Believe it or not, it's not like we just wander around the room, kind of looking for somebody, and open up the raincoat and sell them a watch or something like that. There is a bit of a plan to it all, believe it or not."
"I personally like doing the draft remotely, albeit the second day was kind of a death march for everyone," Yzerman said. "We’re all on the floor, we’re kind of packed at our table, there’s not a lot of room, there’s a lot of distractions. I like doing it remotely and got used to it."
-Steve Yzerman, Executive VP and GM for the Detroit Red Wings.

Mush played hard and obviously he crossed the line a bunch of times. But I’ve always said for a guy who got dirty, threw cheap shots, and had that edge constantly… he consistently backed it up. You think guys like Torres, Marchand, Cooke, or Tkachuk had an ounce of the toughness Marchment displayed in those six clips? I don’t. I miss players like him, guys who brought something different and unique to the game, spiced it up, added a little colour, and emotion. He was a solid defenseman too, not just a hack who was out there to hurt guys. One of my favourite players as a kid and have grown to only appreciate him more as time has passed.
Tough to hear the news today and wish the best for his family and friends.

Those guys are long gone from todays game. When you realize what he brought to the game and what it is today, there's no doubt that the game will never be the same
