This year is all about getting Celebrini or Eiserman. If you’re a Sharks fan you might wanna YouTube those names if they’re unfamiliar. Other than that, let’s just get this over with. Mission accomplished. I must say Eiserman fell through the rankings pretty badly. Given ranked #1/#2 Euros are Russians, and #2 North American is a Belorussian, the picks following Celebrini are not certain.

Last guy I remember diving this far in the prefect process was Couturier, he was the preseason pick to be #1 and I think he wound up #7. Either way it’s good the Sharks got this W in a year where there’s a consensus #1.

The goalie that is listed as #3/#4, Ilya Nabokov, showed some mindboggling stats this year in the KHL, including becoming the youngest ever goalie to record a shootout in the KHL final, sort of Sorokin on steroids.
And he's #3/#4. I wonder if the Jackets should select a goalie so early. Their current tandem sucks.

Refs giving everyone a 10 when the score gets outta hand when in reality nobody has done anything to deserve a misconduct and they’re just making sure nothing happens is quite lame.

If Celebrini is the Sharks #1 pick who should or who do you hope should be their #14 pick?

If Celebrini is the Sharks #1 pick who should or who do you hope should be their #14 pick? Sam Dickinson, London (OHL Might have to trade up to get him, but this kid has major potential.

When will the Canes get the playoff choker label? When the Rangers sweep them? Maybe?

Really hope Grier is gonna be proactive about bringing in some protection for Celebrini and the other kids. I like Kunin and Burroughs but they’re not it. Don’t trot out the tired line that the game has changed and you don’t need this or that anymore, blah blah blah.
Don’t wait until something happens and then react to it. We all see the rats have taken over so bring someone in who can maybe a little bit keep them in check or at least right the wrongs if it happens.

Agree, Hawks had Bedard skate with protection but still got his jaw broken. I thought that hit was clean but have to keep your head up. The question is do you bring up both Smith and Celebrini or let them have one more year to get ready. Suck one more year and you may get McKenna…

It feels like the enforcer is making a slight comeback (not GOONS) but the protector. That Fucking Giant on the Rangers has opened up a lot of eyes. I always refer to Wayne Gretzky in an interview where he said if not for McSorley he would not have been half the Player he was because players would have taken liberties on him but they knew if they did they would have to deal with McSorley!

I'm under no illusions that enforcing is coming back, it's gone and even the big guys who'll fight nowadays don't know how to enforce or what it's about. Whatever. I just don't wanna see Celebrini come up with all this hype and that get run or have someone get in his grill with no response. This kid is the hope for the future you protect him at all costs. Someone tries to rattle his cage him all four guys on the ice get in there, screw where the faceoff goes. Someone takes a liberty with him, you straighten that guy out or teach that lesson to one of his teammates and show him how it's gonna be. Some people will cry about it, oh well. It's a mentality that the whole team has to have and the new coach must implement. But it's easier for the guys to do when they have someone who's got all their backs and isn't scared to handle things with anyone. Get a guy like that. There aren't many left but they are out there and I don't care if they're worse players than Studnicka or Carpenter or Bailey, it's worth it in my books. Just don't do nothing to protect the kid and then get upset when something happens to him you don't like.
