The switch to Xfinity is complete. Already called AT&T to tell them to fuck themselves. First person tried to claim we were under a new 2 year contract because of the equipment they just installed to replace their failing equipment. I laughed and said "Show me where we were informed of a new 2 year contract being entered into." Crickets......I laughed and said nice try now email me the sheet to take to the UPS Store to send all this crap back to you. The best part is you need literally nothing to bring to the UPS store. They know the drill and will handle everything for you. We have cox up for the past week or so. Running well and my new router/modem combo is a fucking beast.

So in homeowner insurance news:
We've been dealing with a weird situation since so sold and bought new with AAA of all companies.
HOI - on old house cancelled and obtained new for our new house like you normally do.
A week after we bought when I was in the Big 50, they needed the appraisal of the house however we bypassed that since the house was valued and at the price it old. (so we saved 500 bucks). But the AAA didn't get that and kept insisting on the appraisal.
Anyway they said they would send someone out to do it. Next thing I know a few weeks later, we get a letter saying they are cancelling our new HOI since there is no appraisal!
I was like let me explain this again... so they finally understood and said they would send someone out.
I think in July or early august, a rep came in a AAA car and took pics of the house etc. Said should we mail me the results later that day. (i'm still waiting on that email!)
So yesterday I get this 1100 dollar check saying there was a change in our insurance policy. Go to the website and notice no more HOI account! (WTF?!)
Alas I call the number on the check. The operator goes ok let me get you to a manager (in a complete different area code her in So Cal than what I would expect) and leave a voicemail - (needless to say no return call yet).
Looks like we will have to go to the local office to get this handled.
So in short they cancelled our HOI when we A) paid in full and B) let them do the appraisal like they asked! (but now they say they have no info on that) - gee well who was the chick you sent in the AAA car for fuck sake?!
if shit can't get any weirder on the house thing of all thins!

If this lingers get the insurance commissioner involved. AAA wont like it at all but it will get them motivated. They really really dont like to have complaints issued.

I was less than five minutes ahead of that crash and behind a guy that was intentionally getting a little sideways coming out of the onramp turn. When I heard the sirens from my driveway I thought maybe it was that guy. The next day, on my way home from work, I saw all the memorial stuff. I found out a couple days later about the kid from one of my neighbors. Tragic. His Dad and sister were at the event. They are really grief stricken and understandably so. Ummm...yeah...I don't think I'd be ready for public appearances yet if I was one of the parents.

Yo Peeps!
AAA - crisis averted!
Went into office (funny enough, the guy that helped me originally left to a different branch, so you can see what was happening here) and meet a new guy in HOI department. I explained what happened. He looked up the account and saw the pics were taken on their end and dated 7-27 and then had me sign paperwork to send to the underwriter.
So once everything is accepted it will be like the policy was never cancelled. So that refund check will become void (damn. lol)
Basically certain AAA employees whether from this office our outside, never followed through, but the agent said he would. so we will see.

File this one under WTF:
KANSAS CITY, MO (KSHB/CNN) — Susie Torres thought she had water in her left ear.
When it would not go away, she went to see a doctor and was in for quite a surprise when a medical assistant first checked her out.
“She ran out and said I’m going to get a couple more people,” Torres told 41 Action News. “She then said, ‘I think you have an insect in there.'”
Torres said, while she did not know exactly what was in her ear at that point, she did not panic.
“She came back in and told me it was a spider,” Torres said. “They had a few tools and worked their magic and got it out.”
Doctors later told her it was a highly venomous brown recluse spider.
Luckily, after a checkup, doctors told her the spider did not bite her.

Took the kids to the 49ers museum and back (via Union City's Fuddruckers).
What the hell is going on with the traffic? 580, 680, 880 all clogged, especially when we were driving back - Waze took me through Hayward streets and then Crow Canyon Rd. Saturday, 3pm FFS. 1 hour from Union City to Danville.

They should've replaced the Mission Blvd connector with a pair of streamlined ramps between 680 and 880 a long time ago.
With all that money being now spent on roads, the on-ramp from Whipple to i-880N felt like a farm road in the Soviet Union.

Massively strained my back during deadlifts this morning at the gym. Fought the urge to try to do something, anything else, in there before hanging it up 20 minutes in. Never in my life have I felt so utterly weak/unable. Even attempting to lift some weights off the rack to return them was near impossible, and any concerted effort to put some power through my legs in a squat was futile. It's crazy how that small area can completley shut down your body.
Fuck this blows. I am walking around like the god damned terminator with even the slightest off balance arm motion throwing my back into spasms.
Hoping tomorrow improves and I can at least run sometime soon. Let alone begin lifting again.

You’re younger, so you might heal faster than an old guy like me...but make sure you’re pain free before you run/lift or you’ll be down for a week vs. a couple of days.

I've seen a lot of Hot Rods also stuck in the 680 traffic. Is it me, or do all major car enthusiasts dudes today look like ZZ-Top characters? Ha!
But yea it's bad all over. I was visiting Pt. Reys National Seashore (Inverness) for a few days and I can say Marin County traffic was completely horrendous as well.

Sounds like soft tissue damage and you're going to have to shut it down for a few days to access the situation. Stretching and range of motion efforts to start. Now you know what I feel like at 60 after a monday night hockey sessions. I had back surgery 7 years ago and it made me 95% better. Grateful for that. But I have to stretch proper every day now.
