My contract was unsynched between AT&T and DirecTV from the start. The order for the Internet installation didn't go through when I bought everything as a package through a distributor at Costco. That was the reason for the numerous problems in both service and billing and the ultimate cancellation.
But in the 8 months of the service I enjoyed a $350 Costco gift card, whereas overall I paid something like $500 altogether.
I really screwed up when I had AT&T combine my phone, internet and direct tv service into one bill. Two months later I knew I had made a huge mistake. Once it was combined I couldn't talk to direct tv anymore. I had to go thru the AT&T customer service department which is a fucking joke. HELLO MANILA I had seperate bills but still had to deal with att. That was just a fact id life.

Yeah. Back was a bit better yesterday but still gets stiff and can get sharp pain in certain weight bearing positions. Back at work today has been rough with all the sitting. I'm turning the area next to my cube into an impromptu yoga studio. Still, it's crazy how much it limits your ability to do any normal motion. And as some of that mobility comes back (or just ability to do something without pain) you really appreciate the progress. Rest your back until you are pain free. No weights at all. I would even wait until you are pain free for a week before starting weights again at a way lower weight. Think lower weight and more reps.

Obviously their botched integration of AT&T and DirecTV has only removed me as AT&T customer, but kept me as DirecTV customer. I was billed for the past two months.
A lady from the CEO's office already called, apologized and promised to put a stop to it.
As soon as I called and cancelled everything AT&T I got a email from Direct TV (which I hadn't had any conversation with the last three years) to return their equipment. So I shipped the two receivers and remotes back to them. I still have the wifi box. Waiting for that bill to drop. I went to return the Wifi box along with everything else and they couldn't even find it in their system at the UPS store.

February 1980 would have been your senior year in HS, right? That must have been terrible, sorry you had to go through that. Glad you healed enough to still be active. Five years is plenty for me...I’m also fortunate that mine doesn’t hurt every day. Here’s to healthy, pain free, backs for all of us! Can’t help on the gas prices though...we’re down to $1.95 Yep, senior year. Didn't get it checked out and diagnosed until April. Played soccer for six weeks after the injury. Pretty stupid. Had to shut it down for 3 months after that. No physical activity. Get in to bed slowly, get out of bed slowly. No running, jumping, skiing, surfing, boinking, skimboarding, swimming... no fun. Well, I smoked copius amounts of weed and did stuff anyway but I did dial it back big time. I was "fine" for a few years after that then the real "fun" began. In an effort to protect the injured area my back muscles became totally unbalanced causing major shifts in my veterbra causing the "kill me now" levels of pain. Chiropractic corrects that but I can't afford to do that every week. I manage to keep things fairly inline these days. It's the muscle spasms that occur most days that get me now. I use a muscle stim machine to dial that back. Works great but it's inconvenient so I don't use it as often as I should. I've got nobody to blame but myself. Yeah, back pain sucks big time. Well, pain in general. I'm sorry to hear you've been dealing with it as well. I wouldn't wish it on anybody! Well, there's probably a few assholes running around that deserve it! 😝 Back pain is only truly understood by people who have suffered through it. I got the point that I was on total disability and popping vicodin like candy. Was only able to walk with a cane and not very far before my back would seize up entirely. Had constant burning stabbing pain in my left leg like a hot knife was cutting my calf up and down. Went to various doctors and finally got to the orthpedic doctor who works on the Fresno State athletes. He looked at my MRI and said you need surgery. Asked what I was doing for pain and I told him I was at that point up to 9 vicodin a day. He was shocked. Put me on a nerve pain medication and said to start backing off the vicodin immediately. First open surgery date was 3 months out. So the new meds helped but it was 3 months of misery. Go in for surgery and wake up in the recovery room and the doc says "I haven't seen this before. About a dime size chunk of your disc broke off and was wedged against your leg nerve. When I pulled it out I could see that the nerve was dented from the pressure. The good news is that will return to normal and you should see significant relief." It was a night and day difference within a week. I only get back pain now if I over do it. I run 7 miles a week now. Eventually somewhere down the line he says I will ultimately need a lumbar fusion but to avoid that for as long as possible.

I run 7 miles a week now. Eventually somewhere down the line he says I will ultimately need a lumbar fusion but to avoid that for as long as possible. Yikes! I was around 23-24, can't remember exactly, when my spine shifting about killed me. Had I not lent my guns to a buddy that went hunting, I would've blown my brains out. When it let go, I was home alone with no one available to help me. I crawled to the phone, took about 45 minutes to get there, and called my doctor. They couldn't see me for a week... Called my college Ortho doc and he was out of town. His assistant said he didn't do backs anyway. I was about to call an ambulance when I accidentally pulled a Potpourri classified ads paper off of my coffee table. It fell open to an add for a chiropractor. I called and they said they could see me AND help me. Now, I had to get dressed. That took 2 hours. 45 minutes after that I managed to get downstairs and into my car. Unfortunately, for DUI reasons, the Percodan I took earlier was kicking in. Oh well... I spent about 3 hours in the DC office that day and about 2 hours everyday for the next 3 weeks. During that span, I visited two docs that both recommended lumbar spine fusion. I also spoke with a few people that had the surgery. Only 1 was pleased. I took a pass on the surgery. After I completed a month of chiropractic treatment I felt better than I ever had previously. I was fine! Woohoo! Then, 3 months later, some bimbo in a rush to get home for a nooner with her boyfriend hits me head on. We were both going 35-40. Now, not only is my back afu again, so is my neck. FML... If there's such a thing as "winning" in an accident like that, I won. My Audi Quattro absolutely crushed her Honda CRX. Unfortunately for her and her boyfriend, they were in only slightly better shape than her car. They both did significant time in the hospital. I walked away... If I were a smarter man, I'd be steadfast about my back maintenance and would then avoid the bad days that happen. Generally, there aren't that many really bad days. There's always some level of discomfort but it's usually tolerable if not unnoticeable because I've become accustomed to it. Feeling good is something that gets taken for granted. When I feel good, I don't do what I need to do to maintain that. Nobody's fault but my own.

Daymn, and I thought I had back issues! Red & Haywood looked like they suffered through even tougher shit! I had back surgery in 2012 to remove two herniations at L5. Immediately felt better that night, 95% better since then. before surgery, 10 years of lower back, leg numbness crap. but damn you guys take the cake on that. i became grateful for the bodies ability to heal itself. most never think about that stuff in your 20s.

If you want to go for a 40 oz better use a spotter.

Im kind of thinking pain free and then start running plus maybe go to the gym for non-back related stuff. And then slowly try more squatting and stuff. I really like deadlifts but am considering stopping them all together.

The fun part is they actually hit you with the taxes for the gift cards.

FYI, Annual 'Scottish Games' festival will be at Alameda County Fairgrounds in P'ton this long weekend. if you're part Scott, drink scotch whisky or just like men in plaid skirts, come over and check it out. Beer garden. He-man Caber toss finals probably on monday. Check out the shoulders on this lad. think he might come out of the corner with the puck.. and watch out along 680 near Bernal, nothing worse than groups of pissed off Scottsmen stuck in traffic.

It’s happened to me and it’s always a shocker. Polish up your resume, let your friends know you are looking, and be grateful the local economy still seems to be going strong. Take the long weekend off to mentally process things and take stock of where you are, then go full speed ahead on the job search on Tuesday.
