Letting go of Trotz was just the most nonsensical thing. I know he was due a hefty raise but if you don’t think he’s one of the five best coaches in the league we’ve been watching different hockey. What he did with the Isles last year was truly exceptional. Absolutely deserved the Adam’s trophy and your right, definitely one of the top five, I’d say top three. |

Should WE PICK HIM UP We need to get tougher...been saying that for yrs..sigh Need a brad Marchandlike two even Any word on dalton prout? Kane is basically Marchand but actually backs up his agitator ways. Agree they need more sandpaper in all spots but more than that they need to make that their identity. It has to come from everyone, not just a few. Too long they’ve looked for that from their 12/13th forward and when it didn’t happen they went without until it bite them again. Kane was a good first step but again, can’t just be from one guy and Kane is gonna need some protection because you don’t want his caliber of player fighting all the battles. Part of the reason I liked the Couture captaincy is because he’s got an edge to him. He’s not physical or even gritty but he isn’t a pleasant guy sometimes. Prout was injured all last year and probably is done as an NHLer. Guy like Kurtis Gabriel could fill that role. They have a guy on the Barracuda, Viel, who seems to be a tough guy too. Josh Anderson is probably done in CBJ, assuming he’s healthy he’s a prototypical power forward. |

Pavs getting no respect tonight Um, exactly what penalty do you want called? Man people are soft now. It’s playoff hockey, let people battle. Holding is the only thing I saw. Zadorov had his hand hooked into Pavs shoulder pad and was using that to hold him down. I noticed it during the game and didn’t like the non call because just before this they called a holding penalty on Dallas that was way less obvious than this. I’d prefer neither call was made, but if you call that cheesy BS on Dallas then this call should have been made too. In general, there was way too many penalties called in this game...let them play. |
