Paid some bills yesterday and I was wondering why I had so much money in my checking account. Then I realized I've been sitting home the last three weeks and not going out to eat or the bars every night. I miss the night life ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ This is an outrage! Signed, Fugazi's Bartender I've had four different bartenders call to check on me and hoping they'll see me when this shit is over. They're either great friends or they're in the poor house already

More or less. I can leave my house but there's nothing open. Our shop is closed but there's more complications to it, it's a small family business so it just doesn't make sense to stay open. Think this is day nine without work for me and I don't know when it will end. That sucks. Any talk of issuing unemployment or anything else for those effected with job closures? Yeah EI is available but overloaded so the government started a new initiative called the CERB which is being rolled out this week.

My FIL got a high fever over there, in Israel. No cough yet, but MIL is petrified. mrs. cjelli is frustrated, although even if she were in Israel, she wouldn't be able to help either due to lockdown. At least her sister-in-law who is in Israel is a nurse and might be able to help out.

I know a lot of firemen are catching the Rona because of the situations they are put into. More power to your neighbor

More power to your neighbor Ya, he’s a great friend to have living around the corner. The bad news is both he and a neighbor nurse are questioning the accuracy of the testing. Interesting times.

She decided in January to take a few months off before she retires in July. Now she's certain she'll never go back to work. Good luck to you and the whole neighborhood

Well played Costco
Costco is temporarily allowing priority access to our warehouses for Costco members who are healthcare workers and first responders such as police officers, EMTs and firefighters. Healthcare workers and first responders who present a Costco membership card and official identification of their role, will be allowed to move to the front of any line to enter the warehouse. Coronavirus Updates 4/8/20

My wacky P’ton across-street neighbor grew up in SF and over the years has introduced me to some of her very interesting local family members. One of them was her 101 year old great-aunt who is a nun somewhere in SF. Poor woman caught coronavirus late Feb and was in UCSF Hospital for two weeks till mid March. Recovered(!) and was discharged to further recover here across the street on March 20th. Today I saw this woman outside braced by her walker slowly doing a back n forth across the driveway. The human spirit is awesome.

I just read Detroit situation is bad and Windsor is getting a spillover. Stay safe, John96 . Right now greater Detroit has about double the confirmed cases that the bay area does. About 10x the deaths. Theres 16000 infected within 30 miles of my house. At a certain point you become resigned to the fact that you are eventually going to get it. I have one friend that had it pretty bad but didn't have to be hospitalized, another guy we know who is in his 50s has been on a ventilator for a week but is improving. Thankfully im able to work from home, I'm not looking forward to returning and wearing a mask all day, temp taken at the door and probably still get the virus anyway. At one point 400 Detroit cops were all on quarantine at the same time, but most are back to breaking up block parties and gang brawls on the daily. As if that job wasn't bad enough already. The D has been getting more buckwild than usual, a good follow is @detroitscanner Stay safe folks

Of course the real number is higher due to low test rates but still the numbers are very good for a fairly large county. Even LA County only 7.5K cases with 199 deaths. Compare that to NY. There is now a theory for this disparity that may have legs: www.ksbw.com/article/new-study-investigates-californias-possible-herd-immunity-to-covid-19/32073873

From China. In a week cjelliko came down with a virus and tested positive for influenza B. He was prescribed Tamiflu and recovered within a week. cjellika got it a week later, didn't test positive for influenza B, but was still diagnosed on the coincidentals, prescribed some new genentech medication and took longer to recover (about 10 days). A week later, mrs. cjelli, despite a flu vaccine, got the virus too, and tested positive for influenza B(!). Tamiflu got her back on the feet within a week. Turned out there was quite an epidemic in the denser Danville neighborhoods full of schoolchildren.
I drank a lot of alcohol and airborne, sometimes together, and stayed clean throughout.

I have a couple of neighbors that are teachers in my neighborhood. They say this years flu was brutal in the district. Maybe some of it was not flu.

He’s wrong. He can have a different point of view all he wants but he’s wrong. He doesn’t understand how scientific data works and doesn’t understand what modeling is used for. He has also been accused of cherry-picking data to further an argument he has. That said, he appears to be a very accomplished fiction writer, if you’re into spy novels. TRO

I have been watching Ozark/Goliath/Fargo/The Sinner (recent season sucked)/Vikings/Banshee/Jack Ryan
